This is a bonus track of sorts for the mock EP It takes a village. I had the verse chord chages around for many years but just until last week the song and lyrics came together really quickly. I thought I heard a band arrangement originally but it seemed more intimate with piano and vocal. This is the most stripped down of any of the songs I have recently done. I put the vocal on it late Sunday evening and found out the glands in my neck were swollen thanks to a bit of a cold going around the house. Using this take anyway. Hope you enjoy.

Wonderful. Adding more instruments can't make this any better. It's perfect as it stands.

I,ve said it before, I could no more sing this well as I could fly. Great vocal, liked the song writer phrasing.

This song is so nice. Very appropriate arrangement me thinks. Agreed, this approach can be intimidating but if a song "stands up" to "stripped down" you probably got something and this song is proof of that. Thanks James.

FYI, there is a glitch in the number of listens on this track. The other day 70+ listens popped up from in one day from another alonetoner. Has this happened to anyone else? Strange.

great voice, vox, didn't remember that from prior listens. Terrific.

I couldn't listen to it the whole way through, something tells me it's so beautiful it could make me weep a bit, and when I'm in the mood for that, it will be a great release. Really beautiful!

Woo! Something different. Yep, stripped down works... Like this one a lot. I suspect that you have the same problems that I do with "stripped down" lol (I'm sat on something that's probably "done" - actually Mrs Russe sez it is - but it feels scarily naked to me!) And that guitar midi controller does the job. Now you've said it, I can hear some "guitar thinking", but I wouldn't have questioned it at all if I hadn't known. Mebbe I've got to get me one...

Well done.

@Tess, Its played using a YouRock guitar midi controller. I play it fingerstyle for the most accurate piano affect. It does the trick. I am using a vsti called PianoOne which is sounds most realistic for a free plugin.
