Norm has been teaching a master's class in percussion and gave me (a lot!!) of guidance to try to add bass properly to this. I added 5 string bass, Fender Mustang and GR-20 sax to his excellent Tumbao track. We hope you enjoy it.
My Life has Become
I have all of these memories
That come on back to me
I don't know what to do
I don't know what I should do with them
Out of nowhere they cover me...
Like a breaking beam of light
Like the star dust in the night
Like…
I played 12 string guitar and 5 string bass along with Norm's original percussion track http://alonetone.com/norm/tracks/7th-son. The only effects were a bit of attack shaping on the bass (compression w/o compressing).
I did this kind of oddly…

Another oldie as I work on other stuff. State of the art PC sound in 1991 was the Adlib card with one OPL2 FM synthesis chip w/o audio capability. Limiting as that was I still had a lot of fun with it. This is one example - I love that lo-fi…
Doom! Count me in!
(Ha! Had to laugh as the 7 sec. mark of this one has that "squeak" sound that I have previously misinterpreted in other songs as being a squeaky bass drum foot pedal... what do I know about computer generated music?)

I think it is very smart that AT does not have a system of "ranking" or "rating" songs other than "favorite". Such a system, by it's very nature, is just going to hurt somebody's feelings.

Chris,, where to begin? perhaps it's best to just listen? beautifully relaxed playing, your touch here is "simple" and so full,,, (which to my way of thinking is the highest praise i can say, i think you'll understand),, 2nd listen,,,, i often consider the silence between the notes to be as beautiful/important as the notes themselves,, seems like that to me here..... i believe you have created a small master piece here,, well well done ps thanks for you listen and comments on WN,, i always appreciate them Richard

Fisherman and the Siren by Lord Frederic Leighton
This is a blues collaboration between The TwoRegs (vocals / lyrics) and Norm Harris (percussion) and myself (17 note per octave electric guitar and fretless bass).
We hope you enjoy it…
This is a piano improvisation that mixes Pianoteq in Werckmeister III tuning with Cakewalk’s True Piano in 12 equal. What results is a soft phased piano sound. This skirts right on the edge of what can be considered microtonal. Some may well…

my goodness - you've been pouring out music and stories - I can't keep up - I surrender the title of the most prolific composer ever to Reg :-)
Man - how did you get the Louis Armstrong voice - oh wow.....
And the rock opera people are right - think Rocky Horror Picture Show - if you could get together a script and a vision and sell it you could be set for life. There is no question about you having the talent to pull it off.

Funny, when I was going through divorce I ended up in a support group - and there was a late 50-ish ex-cop who showed up one day who complained about this young woman who talked him out of entire retirement savings for drugs. Aw, we tried to make this a bit more pro, but sometimes the really fun moments in life are fleeting. So here it is warts and all. But don't mind that - just get out onto the dance floor with Reg! It's ok: he's up to date on his shots.

Humility Don't Come to You
Bet you don't know what I do,
what I'm doing, what I'm doing
Bet you don't understand
Yes I realize
that you think you think you are so big
and its hollow the night you stand
Humulity don't come to you
Not at all
Humility don't come to you
Not at all
I bet you can't figure out who you are
All the things you try just don't get you too far
And you try to make what it is
Something that that it really isn't pure
Humility don't come to you
Easy at all
Humility don't come to you
You think you stand so tall
Humility don't come to you
Not Easy at all
Humility don't come to you
I hope that you can catch your fall.
I am noticing a patter in the musics like at minute five to minute five and a half I start to slow down and change up the systems.. anyway when i mixed the two things they came out like this.
these are the messages from my machine. I did this before but somehow had to do this again. of course the answering machine messages were edited for content .. :)
I was just reading "The Challenges Facing Women in Music and other Scientific and Engineering Fields" and saw you uploaded a track - and I got to say this is awesome!!! Are the strings microkorg or one of those VSTs? They work really well with the voices - sounds film dramatic! Nice work!

Oh I LOVE the pic! Cool 70s vibe! That vocal is spot on!
Tear-jerking...not sure why. My daughters are growing up. It's MY growing pain. Love it when the woodwind kicks in at 2 mins.
Scorching strings!
There's definitely a story behind this piece, would like to see some modern dance translating it.
Like the first few flickers of a new fire.
