I love this. I thought the music was painfully pretty when I first heard it, and very much wanted to be a part of it. Apologies to my mother for the whispered expletive...but this song rolled off our tongues. :-)

We wanted to accompany our new track with...for lack of a better term, a b-side...so while working on this bridge piece for two other songs, we thought we'd slip it in here.
rough demo...still mixing...

from Live at KXCI Tucson, AZ studio session:
When I was in the 7th grade, I used to skip school on Wednesday mornings so that I could watch the Nat King Cole show on PBS. I was mesmerized by his music. I could feel his vocal influence as I wrote…
Traditional Irish - Arranged by Doug Sparling
Based on a recording by Na Casaidigh.
Played late at night, as a lullaby of sorts. Now go to sleep, little child...

Doug you always bring things back round to the basics, and what a lovely tune you always have to share. Thanks for this Beautiful tune. Keep up the fine work.
Just a spontaneous (and very rough) two hour tune. Written and recorded yesterday, edited and mixed today. I might as well get it uploaded now because I'll be spending the next two weeks preparing to move across the country.

This is my newest song made using Reason 4. Compositionally it might get slightly repetitive but I am hoping that there is enough variation that it will keep the listeners attention through the whole piece. Enjoy and let me know what you like…
This is spooky cool! and we love the profile pic as well...nice to know you...and thanks for listening...We'll be sure to keep our ears peeled for your new releases!
thanx

The song was constructed around a field recording of Lacandon men paddling across the lake in Métzabok, Chiapas (Southern Mexico). The Lacandon speak "Hach T'an," which is a Mayan dialect-- this is the language you hear in the track. Unfortunately…
The text along with the visual along with the sounds...just beautiful, truly a multi media experience...but the song is so beautifully simple...elegant the way it moves right along with the river. captured magic.
Lovely.
Recorded August 28, 2009
Details: Martin D1 (DADFGC - capo II), Shure SM57, Audacity, Sound Forge.
After digging this tune up really I really wanted to try it again on acoustic (which I don't play much). This is a second take recorded in…
Written, recorded, and mixed in 24 hours. August 01-02, 2009, from 6am to 6am.
Instrumentation: Two acoustic guitars, electric guitar (picked and bowed), fretless bass, about 7 different flutes, two tabla drums, rattles, tambourine, didgeridoo…
First post-24h tune. Music written and recorded throughout the day... and lyrics in the evening. WARNING: This one is another cliché romantic synth-pop tune; same *muse* as the last one.
Gorgeous... A small slice of that Minneapolis sound and a mix of island logic...just exquisite. Is this on the radio?
It should be. Your work always floors me. This is the soundtrack, my candle lit apartment, breeze blowing throught the black sky...drinks in hand...and everything could not be more perfect with glu spinning.
Something completely different- Uilleann pipes(Irish bagpipes) and synth. I wrote this tune over 20 years ago in the style of traditional Irish slow airs. It was recorded way back in 1991 for an album that's been out of print for over 15 years…
A morning storm recorded in the courtyard and a musical motif written in the evening. combined time working-- 45 minutes, interrupted by a phone call from the parents to see if I was still alive.
This is a little riff I've been carrying around for a few years from my Nozomi Phoenix days in NYC. A dreamy sequence, that reminds me of a Grimm tale.
Richard, I think this piece is so beautiful that Im afraid to touch it. Ill see about being very gentle with your arrangement. I really love this piece though.
Honestly I have no idea where this came from or how.
I was messing with Omnisphere patches and came across a lovely, flutey, breathy sound that put me in mind of the scenes inside the monolith at the end of 2001. I setup a Rytme pattern to…
