The Hangman
It was a cloudless blue sky
there was no where for her to hide
in the hot sun, as she witnessed her man die
the accuser stood with his head high
as he told all his lies
then judge sentenced her man
the bible for-told
it was to be an eye for an eye
she looked her love straight in his eye
as they dragged him from his cell
begging and pleading for his life
his eyes screamed innocence asking questions why
but nobody cared who lied
the sound of the verdict rolled around in her mind
as she stood there shaking in the bright blue sky
It was a cloudless blue sky
