Wanna Go Home - ReMix
This is a total remake of an earlier posting.
Lead vocals courtesy of fellow Alonetoner, Dana.
In the lyrics, I was trying to capture a sense in which there is something else beyond -
something which draws me as it were homeward. A son, a father, a hope, an unmerited embrace…imago dei…
The tune started as a study of the chord progressions in a bossa nova tune by Carlos Lyra (Quando Chegares). I took those same progressions, mixed them up, and added a bluesy flavor.
Lyrics:
wanna go home - i
wanna go home
i dont wanna stay, stick around
just let me go
faces i know
faces i dont remember
the face of the one
the one that makes all the difference
wanna go home - i
wanna go home
i dont wanna stay, no,
stick around - Lord no!
just - let me go
hope for the dawn
when the night is over
hope that is blind
is hope that makes all the difference
wanna go home - i
wanna go home
i dont wanna stay, stick around - Lord no
just - let me go
(A further verse which did not make this recording:
Arms that await
waiting to heal the broken
arms that embrace
the embrace that makes all the difference)
Dana's voice is really cool in this range, no, bro.? You sound cool/natural too. Yeah, man.
nice song! I could listen to bossa nova all day, and the tinge of blues works very well. All these parent/offspring collaborations make me jealous!!!
O son está chegando aqui ruto cortado!! como faço p/ ouvir?? Robson
karismatic chordage
Warmth rises lazily from the gentle guitar/singing, very enjoyable writing and singing in this. Here's to fathers and daughters sharing their talent! ttfn, Drakonis
You two make a great team, what a super song, really nicely done.
