Recorded in 2004. Birthed by the Iraq War. Started as a spoken word rant then fused with a music track laid down by Graham at Debefore Records. A big FU to the Bush Administration, living in poverty and COINTELPRO!
I'll Tell Me Ma is a folk song in the Irish tradition. I recorded it with acoustic instruments, multiple vocal tracks, and spoons for the main percussion, to give it that kitchen party feel!
I did it in the key of C. Not exactly normal, but…
I’m going down
To the ground
Half a step
Then look around
I make an unsettling sound
Devil in the details
Music is the thing
The flatted fifth
Makes a diabolic ring
Listened to this after a particularly stressful work day and it brought me peace and calmness then lifted me up go out and have some fun once the drums kicked in. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Inspired by RFK's Mindless Menace of Violence Speech
Lyrics
Perhaps we can remember
if only for a time
that violence stops for no man
being rich and poor, and black or white
we share the same old dreams
a captive moment in our lives…
There is no funk without a killer bass line and this song has plenty of that with nice complementary vocals, rhythm and keys. I survived but wasn’t sure I would!

Reimagining the old Echo & The Bunnymen song “The Cutter” as an anthem to discourage Emo youth from self mutilating.

I feel the longing and soul aching in the powerful vocals. Well done!
Nice track! Unique vocal stylings
Made me want to take two shots, grab a blue eyed Irish girl by the arm and pull her onto the dance floor with me. I enjoyed it very much.

You’re scaring me man. That’s some evil rock and roll there. I love it!

Great tune for a great man. Perhaps we can remember when there were politicians who wanted to truly help their fellow man.

It was an honor and privilege to play with these guys in the late 1970s, early 1980s and now again in 2022.
Not a cover but a complete reimagination of the song. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
