Without Hands (Perfection)
Verse One
It’ll never snow here
In this quiet little town
even winter brings
a green green ground
still stranger yet
in his monolithic place
so delicate
with scars on his face
Chorus
All the words you…
Paisley Tears
Verse One
Awake to the sound of broken glass I know,
It’s far too real
A wispered word could spark a fight
We learn to play so still
In Shadows hiding from the light
Children against thier will

But I’m more than…

This life in focus
I feel it has no meaning, its purpose ever fleeting
And how we get through
This world and aspdcts thereof
only through words and thier…
Love the story behind the title - I've got songs like that too. One of the reasons I am SO MUCH of a one man band is because of bad experiences with bands. Cool song.
Blue Skies
Verse One
I try to imagine, a sky too blue
Your hearts older, but mine ages too
I turn to wisper, you've lost the war
Holding to everything, you've lost
Chorus
And we're all to blame
Holding your fame to favour
All your…

After Goodbyes and all,
We’re now on our way
We’re leaving here for now
Cold hands, spin me around
Eyes lock and innocence becomes
My eyes

Forged memories…

I gotta be honest. I had this on in my headphones jamming out while working and felt like I was listening to spotify. The breakdown on "Without Hands" caught my attention and I remembered I was listening to an RPM all recorded in one month! That says a lot for your production I think. Bravo. Look forward to hearing next years!
Smiles Not Fading
Verse One
Called in content in all of this
all the world has past me by
Outraged by fear and holding on
Still I've done nothing wrong

Taking all of this, all away
Breathing although
You’ll, never feel awake…

Tight! The guitar tone in the solo section is dynamite. Thanks for all the kind words on our page btw. Means a lot for a debut album! Grats on 20 yrs of records!

Lyrics for the bridge
Logically there's room for all questions
Though the answers aren't all known,
Objectivities the myth of plenty,
Who doubt His truth within their soul.

This song went through multiple iterations before coming out like this. It was a great song to play live. Did anyone catch the tip of the hat to "Fire and Rain" at the very end of the song?
That twanging sound at the beginning of the song is me putting my acoustic through an amp with all knobs on 10. Acoustics feedback at 440mhz, which is an A note. The song is in A. It kind of sounds like a high tension electrical wire.
Brian from A Beautiful Scene sent me the lyrics to his song and said "Do what you want." The lyrics really intrigued me, and I wanted the song to have the rainbow tone palette of colors and sounds that I suspect is the backdrop mentally to his…
I so want this to be the single... I don't care it is six and half minutes... It is like a showcase for every player in your band. And your bass player is getting tight and more intricate which I absolutely adore!
I wish someone told me that we were doing 90's Depeche Mode style dance songs this year... I would have joined in. You and Jarrett crushed it this year with the moody dance vibe.
Has almost a "Night Begins to Shine" vibe. Which means my kids also love it.
Gave the album a listen, this one is my favourite but I am super biased to tracks with vocals on them!
Super dark but it sounds like the art came from a real place and that is the most important thing in music. Vocals sound amazing by the way!
Whole thing sounds great Todd!
(Remastered 22/10/2021)
Here it is in all of its glory...
THIS is the song that Mrs R and I had decided was a suitable response to a request to "Upload something HAPPY, stat!!!!!!!!!"
I tried to record it back in 2013 when I wrote it…
I started writing this song in the summer (August) of 2015 and finished it recently. The bulk of the tune was there but not the words. I recorded it using a bouzouki which is tuned GDAG, low to high though I wrote it on the guitar. This is now…
The melody for this prayer came to me on Pentecost Sunday, two years ago. I didn't upload up it at the time because I wanted to sing it properly and had intended this to be a demo recording only. I was reminded of the song this morning watching…
cast aside the scenes you see
I'll help you find your voice
the future's fast as Doppler blurs
but there always was a choice
No Air Support The Sun Is Low
Up In The Skies It Refused To Grow
beware the talking screens
they persist but…
One thing I like about covers is turning a song on its head, so that's what I did with this tune from the great ABS album "The Far Side Of Paradise". I hope I made Lane proud.
Brian of A Beautiful Scene wrote an amazing tune for the 2020 A Beautiful Scene RPM record and I couldn't get it out of my head. I hope I did it justice.
(updated May 10 with a slightly different mix)
Written for the April 2020 RPM mini-challenge. I hoped for an EP and ended up with a single song. The song is largely recorded on a T25 mic I built for Brian of A Beautiful Scene as a means to test the mic. It's pretty solid if you ask me…
This song perfectly encapsulates the feeling towards writing music, especially for RPM. Even with it's light humour, it still has a weight to it that commands an emotional response for all of those who have written a catalogues worth of songs. Well done Tim!
Comments on A Beautiful Scene's stuff
A powerful set of songs, and a really good listen, well done.
Woah. Powerful stuff. Didn't need the meaning (or I didn't need it), I didn't get the details but I got the point - really moving.
Love the story behind the title - I've got songs like that too. One of the reasons I am SO MUCH of a one man band is because of bad experiences with bands. Cool song.

Rocking!

Mhm. Yup. This is great.

That hits the spot
Excellent Album!
Good rockin' tune!
Well done. Cool rocking song. BTW, thanks for listening to my songs.
Agree with (WilSun, I assume?) sounds real good now! Any RPM '23? Thanks btw!
Are you English?
Love this. The pulsating...
Is that all you? Great vocal...
Great production! Such an emotional song! Great vocal mix. I'd like to hear a bit more of the lead vocal.
Sounds great already, demo or not. Amazing vocals!
This is TIGHT. Dang.
Digging this track.

That bass line is amazing!
That is some good tunage. Love the feedback, sounds fantastic!
That moment when you realize that a cover is far better than your original... Thank you for doing this Gary! It is phenomenal!
Solid tune! Love the J Mascis vibe!
Kickass version! Love a good cover of a Wilsun tune!
I think you just encapsulated my kids thoughts at bedtime. And maybe mine too.
Okay, I spoke too soon on Hiding in Plain Sight... THIS is it. Holy Hell, I think I know how Brian Wilson felt after hearing Elenor Rigby...

This sounds like a Keith Landry Cover. Oh, hey there he is!

Love that bridge, so glad you kept those guitars! Love the chatter in the end, I love this song too.
The bass line rocks! Love your mixes, everything is so clear and every part has its place!

Hauntingly beautiful. Well done!
Your music is wonderful!
Wonderful Melody to a beautiful Prayer. Thank you for uploading!
I really enjoy your vocals on this one. There is something appealing behind the synth layers with the Candace of your lyrics.
Lane says "meh" But I bet my Mom likes it better than my track, so you get points there.
Love the new mix! Nailed those "slidey" guitar parts!
