Life Lesson 9
Life Lessons, ninth installment, call it Life Lesson 9 if you would be so kind
for all the employed out there
if your job is trash, or if a part of your job is totally unimportant, unnecessary, or destructive or harmful of someone or something, get away from it, don’t do it, slack off or cut corners in that area
this I know is a complicated topic with a lot of complexity, shades and degrees
not all aspects of a given job are problematic or pointless, and attitude plays some part
but to the extent which you can intelligently identify what parts of your job are useless or problem-causing, then neglect those parts as much as you can without putting yourself or your position in jeopardy
be very serious about this, think about it before you go through with it
toss around in your head possible outcomes, start small
and if you find out later that the approach did not work out well, abandon it
however, for any given job, you do not want to be employee of the week, month or year
you do not want to be the quote, standard of excellence, type of worker where you work…
unless all or virtually all points of your job are positive and beneficial and advantageous and you honestly and thoroughly enjoy the work, but that is extremely rare in this day and age
the bottom line is look after number one, because your job could take you or leave you
