Finally, at last... I've got something finished...
Been working on this for a few weeks.
A bit of a rocker... (and an aging lecherous one at that)
I got it as close as I could and then mixed it loud... I've over-cooked it slightly - but…
A new one...
I wrote it on 5th February, and managed to record it in less than a month (a head-cold and lack of hearing in one ear slowed the last lap somewhat).
But seeing as the last one took over 8 months, I think I'm already ahead for…

This is really good stuff. Songwriting firmly placed in late 70's art rock/pop, which is a very good place to be, if you ask me. Contemporary, skilled production makes for a tasty sound palette and a very enjoyable listening experience. Bravo!
This song has been sat on the marvellous mechanical mouse organ in the broom-cupboard for well over a year.
A few weeks ago I got a bit of a scare - the mouse organ nearly broke down (in the middle of sorting out Delta Dawn). While I was fixing…

I dig the classic flavor of this one. Some choice bass runs. Groovy lyrics. Great vocal delivery. Superb mix-down skills. Thanks for checking out "niaR" on my Gene Eric Mann profile. Hear it as "Rain" on my Nightmoth profile. Rock on!
Pop-rock tale about a character in a novel that I fancied. Recorded in 2009 on a Boss MBR.

Theres a crazy girl
Looks about my age
Hiding out on the second page
Waiting for the story to unfold…
I wrote this thing in 1994. When I played it to some friends back then they went "yeah, but where's the rest of it?"
I've been struggling with that concept ever since. Then, a while ago, a couple of kindly souls removed that worry from me…

A song about my wife. Recorded 2005.
I'd just taught myself how to play piano (badly).
I'd always wanted to be Freddie Mercury when I was younger... still got a bit of a ways to go.

This was the original version I recorded before I completely overhauled it (see version on "It takes a village album ). I wasnt crazy about it but hell I put time into it and completed it so why not post it up.
Wedding march written a long time ago for a friend and a failed marriage. The song symbolizes hope and trust in the face of fear. The composition is all that's left of that now, but, it still means something. Not our usual, so please don't…
Oh, it's fall again,
Autumn leaves are sweeping in,
Came and went like the tides.
Oh, chills on the wind again,
Eating through our clothes,
Aching our blood cells.
Oh, where is home again,
With fire in our hearts,
And love on our shoulders…
Reg crawled out of his bunker and wandered down the hill where Jip 1965 found him and dragged him round to FDR,s cave, the beer flowed, the whiskey jug was emptied and we all turned into AC/DC. And then we went down the Rum Runner and rocked the…
Written and recorded in a couple of hours late one night.
I pick up the telephone
and dial the number
I run down the street
I don't mind the thunder
I can get no answer
Can't go back to my slumber
I turn the corner slip and fall
I hit…
Yeah - magnificent song. Love the vox.
Like the vid too :)
...Interesting watching you play, btw - you've got a different right hand, but watching your left hand I could be watching myself in a mirror! Don't often get that feeling watching another guitarist :)
We're truly nowhere now,
and there is no fight for who's king.
Through a tear in two souls crawls
the shapelessness of this dream.
I lay down in the sun to spring leaks,
when in pours my weight in dead fruit,
under which the ground gives way…
Extravagant and clean and practised, oh, so very well,
they pose and fall and knead and climb, unclothed yet practical.
The ceiling sets the scene and I am reminded not to go.
I'm at the mercy of this posthumous woe.
Never seen again…

Really like this mate. Great lyrics
Reminds me a bit of classic rock Bowie. Really cool!

Rockin stuff. Love the spacey bit in the middle.
Don't know the original, but this sure sounds good.
Yummy. And she's got a nice name, too :)
Ummm... I love both versions... but I think this is the one I'd take on holiday with me.
Lovely, but sounds very sad... I wonder whether it would have sounded so sad if I hadn't read the story first?
Love the images you paint with your words.
Yep, I'm very fond of LWIII as well. Only saw him once though. One of the funniest nights of my life. Nice version :)
Wooo! Never heard the original. But this vocal is sparkly and huge :)
Ha! Ha! Rockin.
Blissful. We got the same roots :) (Did you spend years trying to sing like him too??)

Wooo... wonderful. Now I'm going have to go and find Geir's version - not sure I've ever heard it.
Don't know the original, but I like this version a fair bit :)
Lovely version. That guitar sounds FABULOUS. Faved from the first notes.
Yep, like the four so far. I'm going to have to check Cockney Rebel out themselves now!
Not that familiar with Cockney Rebel... but I'm liking this a lot.
Similarly majestic - and fabulous.
Woof!! This is majestic.
Haha! Superb... absolutely superb. Groove, song, everything.
And this one too. Love it.
