I've been missing in action for ages - apologies to all, I'm about to start listening again too.
For ages, I'd been considering a move away from my trusty Boss BR1600 on which I've recorded and mixed nearly everything…

So I got me a new geetar the other week.
Named her Lala, obviously. Seemed kind of appropriate - she wears a faded gold dress and is full of chunes and mischiefs.
This is our first effort together. It was meant…
So I was locked in the broom-cupboard, checking out some old songs that need recording.
I'd just picked one and then suddenly this thing came out of nowehere. It started with one of those guitarist doodles that other musicians love so much…

Now here's a bit of an oldie - the second song I ever wrote. In... 1978!
I think I played it once, or maybe twice, at school assemblies. My musical peers and colleagues back then dismissed it as corny/rancid pop music…

I found this one while I was digging through the shoe-box for the 1994 songs. Apparently I wrote it on 10th November 1995.
Foolishly, I thought it would only take a week or so to record... I was originally expecting…

And here's another song from 1994, with a sparkling new "Andrew Russe Band" arrangement fresh from the broom-cupboard.
Like most of my songs, it was written with an acoustic guitar, a pen, and an A4 pad. The ones…

This is great! What starts out as a super solid guitar riff turns out to be the start of an inventive arrangement and tasty guitar playing. Your voice is interesting too, and made better by the fact that you're clearly feeling it!

The core of the music is heavily inspired by Joni Mitchell. Its been spinning around for years in my head so hearing this song finally recorded feels good.
Well Reg got to thinking about his Hippie past and that its nearly time to go mushroom picking again before that first frost............i had nothing to do with it by the way....i'm innocent your honor ......Honest "Guv"....
Picking the Shroom…
Well if it was a dream Reg would have met his wife on the Dance floor but as it was'nt he met her at the Bar ...of course.....and if Reg was a musician instead of a singer it may have been in time too......

Traded anger
For disappointment…
Oh yeah, love the groove and space on this.
One of my favourites of yours. It starts driving and just keeps pounding. Great instrumental outro...
Mine's a vodka martini, don't forget the olives...
I once worked for a retail company in the computer industry. One of my fellow buyers took a job at another company, then returned six months later as a salesman for that company. This is a song of how he might have felt returning to the city…
Another lyrically-challenged collaboration with jip1965, who sent me a guitar, bongo, percussion track with a recorder playing named, simply, 'Love'.
I added the piccolo, crystals and windchimes from my virtual keyboard, renamed it 'What is…
Yeah :)
Like lots.
Love jip's guitar signature on this, so smooothh. And I can hear the sun setting outside the tent, and the pillows, lots of pillows.
Er... or is it an entirely different sort of love? (Why have we only got one word in English??!)
Love it. "Lyrically challenged"? Pah! needs no more for this listener :)
Had written this one many years ago. I had it recorded originally in a different key and with different instrumentation but it I just was not happy with it. I deleted the original lyrics for the chorus and added a bridge section and lyrics. I…
Woo... not heard this before. It's wonderful. I don't want any backing on it at all, I want it like this...
If you do end up with a backing - and I'm sure it'll be yum - but pleeze do not take this one down :)
you know they say you have to write some rubbish before the good stuff comes out?... Entirely Garageband, not a live instrument on it but it was clogging my head up.
So are you saying this is part of the rubbish or the good stuff? lol
Sounds good to me. Love the chords and harmony. And then the bass line in the middle eight... I'm always a sucker for a falling bass line.
Woo... I heard the original, but hadn't noticed that the search for the lyrics had been successful - must have been asleep or something at the time...
Like it :)
Comments on Andrew Russe's stuff
I love your music. You never disappoint. Always makes me happy to hear your music. Awesome.
'ello Stranger, that's a real piece of class, A + + + from me.
Great song, vocals, and production!
Very nice work, I love the quality in your voice.
Welcome back sir! Really nice song, instrumentation, and super sound quality even through the olโ ear buds!! ๐๐๐ถ๐ถ๐
Another beauty from house of Russe well worth the wait
Great piece.
You had me at, "If I back off and shut my mouth..." Know exactly where you are. So afraid the answer is, "No."
Sounds like a 50s Buddy Holly era song. Very sweet sentiment. And, yes, I can dance to it.
Great characterization. Great kick drum sound.
WoW! Rock me, dude! Love the imagery.
Genius lyrics !
Love this !
Oosh.
*double take*
Seems your peers and colleagues were very mistaken. Great job. acoustic57

Big sound! And it really does dance. Nice one
I nearly missed this too! Superb.
Lovin the slide sound you get.
Very groovy, and slightly disturbing, as usual... lol
Oh this is brilliant... nearly missed it!
Brilliant... I've known guys who actually operated this way... how the hell it worked I'll never know...
Oh wonderful... still, that's what I expected lol But you didn't disappoint. I love the effect on the last verse. Nice one guys :)

Another classic... (I mean this version, not just the song!)
Oh yes, a nice bit of boogie... And I'm with slkrell on the "from state of misery" hook.
Love the guitars and arrangement. Big and inventive sounds. And some mean leads in the instrumental.
Didn't think I was gonna like this... but woo, it's a mighty fine version.
Speechless... No idea why, but I love it lol A crazy and wonderful creation.
A new one! Well, an old new one, then... who cares? I was waiting for one anyway :) Good to hear. Nice one.
Yeah, like :) Lovely set of words. Fine song.
