Featuring Mark Hubbard & Duma, on didj & percussion respectively, this one begins as the most traditionally structured piece on the album. But don't get used to it, it doesn't last long... just enough to ease you into the formlessness…
"I'll know it when I see it"

I'd do that instead"
And blindly without question
I followed down that trail
That led into the hidden night

All first take improvisations. 8 tracks of madness for your enjoyment. Ear goggles will put you inside this piece. Not recommended for the faint of heart!
Recorded between 9AM - 7PM on the 26th of February.

I did this weeks ago & then found it again last night as I was archiving old files. This is one of those one-off improv sessions... I recorded the rhythm guitar in one pass, then one "lead" pass and then one vocal pass, and done. Even the…
This is the third, maybe forth time I recorded this tune.
I like this one best.

This one rewards repeated listening... (I especially love the instrumental break before the last verse). I'd like to put this tune on our community radio station, if you don't mind. (WUTZ radio, 88.3 in Summertown, TN) ~ Let me know if that's okay.

A quickly improvised tune with some stream-of-consciousness lyrics. Written/recorded hastily in the dead of night on Tuesday 11/27 with a short overdub session on Thursday 11/29, when I should have been sleeping.
All basic tracks…
Hey, thanks Reg. I'll try to keep it open... I recently moved all my music/recording gear from my cramped bedroom to my son's old room now that he's at university. This was the first 1/2 way decent thing I recorded since I set up in here. I'm gonna try to keep things rolling so I'll be warmed up for RPM 2013! :-) Peace.
Hi folks - Uncle Paul is back at it after a 4 month hiatus from music.
Sometimes I just have to walk away from it. I'm sure most of you know what I'm talking about.
I forced myself through the 2012 RPM Challenge
and quit playing right after…
Excellent, PAL! Now get back in there & send me that tempo track for Blue! :-)
Much love,
~Tennessee Tea
PS - I really like when the drums drop out about 2:30 in....
I like your recent live take on this you posted, I'd really like to see this lyrics posted for this.... This is a great track!

Colin, I just tried to post a track by track commentary on this, and it just disappeared. Rather than trying to recreate it, let me just say thanks for posting this live performance. Well done indeed, sir! I hope to hear more of this kind of thing...

Hey Colin! Good on ya! While the sound quality isn't exactly stellar, it's quite good enough to hear the intensity & emotion of the performances. I'm glad you posted this!
Stand: Wow, an oldie to start.. it really starts to hit me about a minute in -- nice performance!
Revolution: Love the intro - excellent performance, a timely resurrection...
All was nothing: Another great composition; I can see why you're still playing it 10 years on, though I hope the hurt has healed!
I love the chord changes & would appreciate being able to read the lyrics for all these tracks!
Thanks again for putting this up, I'd like to hear more live tracks from you & the others on this site.
Cheers,
Michael
A rather flat version of an original instumental jam played live as a four piece in the studio.we played reserved compared to normal renditions. others wanted this on the album, i voted no. we made our 35 minutes. thank god!
We've all met them! Haha. Got a bit of a rocky head on doing this.
