On this beach made of sand and shells
and broken hearts
as with so many things in this life
it ends where it starts

And like the waves that will roll over me
you take away everything that I see

So I walk to the place where the sand
and sky meet the sea
and the water is wide as it welcomes
and beckons to me

What you give is a new kind of mind
that leaves all that I knew far behind

Like the waves rushing down over me
you take away everything that I see

you’re my spirit, you’re my soul
you’re the essence of the matter
with no need to seek control

So I float in the light
and on through the night of my soul
as the love from within heals my heart
and makes me whole

And the waves that have washed over me
have taught me the way of the sea
