Now that’s a powerful song! I could feel the emotion dripping out of it. Great visual image of “drive until the signal dies”. Well done! You have raised the standard for all of us . . . again.
The other night I was sitting out watching a little fire in my backyard, and thinking about how useless it is to let the past dictate our present and future. This one is dedicated to all of us with relationships in our history that have no place…

Wow! Beautiful song! Better send this one to Carl.
Just to set the record straight, Yes, I played guitar and bass on this, but Colleen mixed it after we had a brainstorming session on how to do it. Nice Mix Colleen!

Steve developed this beautiful track with his ukulele and I added some lyrics to make a "positive message" song for the times we are in.... Hope it makes you smile too...
It Won’t Be Like This Forever

I wrote this song as a way to process some of the feelings of sadness, dismay, anger, fear and love that were brewing inside my heart this past week. I live in Minneapolis, where the terrible killing of George Floyd occurred, and the subsequent…

Nice one. Sounds very real and spontaneous... Looks like I missed this first time round. I was thinking about Gene the other day, talking about him to my wife.

Very positive and uplifting and a feel between Dolly and Emylou. Lovely coming out of the darkness of your Twin Cities. I'm sorry there has been so much hurt there, clash that sadly is like 50 years ago again because it is. Change has to come in the unnecessary loss of George. Thanks for the kind words to my track earlier Colleen. It's good to discovery you and Andrew also in your circle.

You had me with "If I start by making a better me / It will help to make a better we" ... I was listening without reading what it was about. In fact, I didn't make the connection until after I had finished the first listen. But it was "wooooo" ... You've created a song that gets to the heart of a thing without being tied to the thing that made the writer write it... that's magical... I agree with Greg - it's an anthem... wow... many thanks for saying what many of us think, feel, and wanted to say....
Here is my contribution to the latest song writing challenge posted in the Alonetone Forum.

Who Knew when I first met you
That all your troubles would be mine
And you’d be coming around again…
from the Poisonous EP
wait for the worry lines, the worry lines
to disappear
they get me every time, me every time
that you are near
won’t let you get inside, this heart of mine
i must be strong
you knew you’d get to me, you’d get to…
I did this about 2 years ago and only found it the other day.
I think it sounds like something Robbie Williams would sing - and not really my style or cup of tea. It's a bit anthemic "come on and join in" (no thanks). Add to that I my singing…
Original. I wanted to paint a picture of a long, cold walk through the pouring rain. The longer you listen the stranger the atmosphere becomes. It could be haunted!
Imagining my band imaginary band in my head on one of those 60's type music shows. Just having fun with this one nothing too serious lyrically like solving world peace or finding high consciousness ..although it really is a true story.
Last of the archives for now. A set of reels from the Last Nights Fun album. I did pipes, whistle and guitar on the last tune in the set. There's a live version of this up here too. This is the studio cut
I was down at the station
Catch the Greyhound to Go My Way
And I heard the loudspeaker
We’ll be leaving some time today
You just Say no thank you
When I ask you to be mine
I’ll be looking for that green light
When I ask you the next…
I don't know how you do it! Another classic!!! That lonesome twang on the guitar is so perfect. And wow! that harp is killer. Love the lyrics! Especially the chorus
Comments on Colleen Dillon's stuff
All the time ....or I’d lose them ....well worth getting down

WOW, this one is gorgeous. Song and vocal fabulous. And Greg's and playing and production isn't too shabby either!
Your singing just keeps getting better and better...love the chorus...and great playing and production Greg!!!
Sounds like Melany from the late 60's. I've got a brand new pair of roller skates song. Nice smooth sound.
Good therapy. Best medicine for the soul.

This is still making me tingle. Those first two lines... I want everyone to feel it.
Beautiful Colleen, beautiful.
Peace anthem, and so beautifully performed. Magical!
