Nothing beats when the MN songwriters convene. Greg and Colin sure brought some awesome sound to this song at the coffee table to improve the version that I recorded myself earlier this month. It's what I call a TOTAL MAKEOVER.
Thanks guys…

Well ... I tried to log in on my iPhone and learned that I am only a guest. Rita and I listened to *"Taking Back What's Mine"* over a Bluetooth speaker in the living room this morning and as I said in the previous "Guest" message, lots of emotion and imagery!
I'm impressed with your guitar playing and the tone from your new guitar too. Very nice!
Fantastic song! Lots of emotion in there and imagery. I especially liked "my feet are in the water, my chair is in recline . . . Taking back what's mine"
Great sounding new guitar , by the way! I think I hear a kettle drum in there too. Nice touch!
This one is still a bit rough, but I wanted to share and see if anyone has an interest in adding some guitars, bass, other vocal parts for fun. I left the chords in the lyrics below, in case you wanted to collaborate. I hope you enjoy it…
Wrote this song yesterday after another long week of crummy news in the world and had the good fortune of the Minnesota song writers in my living room tonight to help me bring it to life. Greg Connor - on the cigar beat box, Colin Walterson on…

One after another . . . Strong lyrics and a great melody. Excellent!
I see you decided to put Laural & Hardy's version out of its mystery. Good choice. We were making it much more complicated than it needed to be.
The wonderful MN songwriters helped take a bite out of the January cold on Tuesday night this week and added some amazing depth to Singing in the Silence - We were as usual, recording on a little TASCAM around my coffee table. We had lots of…

I had fun singing this at the open mic this past week.
Originally written for a song writing challenge using the phrase *"Chicken Plucking Time In Petaluma"*
I could not ignore this hypnotic circling guitar riff on my mind keeping me awake endlessly spinning above the drop "D" tuning registers of a complicated web of entangled guitars that are driving atop the very solid bass horizon the tension is…
It’s a small town. Woodlake, California. East side of the San Joaquin Valley. 14 miles from where all those “Lindsey” olives you see on your grocery store shelves come from. The Woodlake Echo, says, “In the foothills of the Sequoias”.

Cornwall, a place where I have never been, and probably will never be - what is it? Sun, sea, lapping waves, moonlit path at night? Public, Idly strolling down the wide sidewalk, quietly... Ringing/sparkling kids, playing?
Or perhaps this that…
One of my all time favorite songs! Love this version. Thanks for the comments and the offer add some vocals. I would love to take you up on that someday!
Just back from a lovely two week holiday in Cornwall and Gene sent me the finished version while i was away....another excellent backer by gene ...hope you enjoy our take on a Stevie wonder classic ......
Miles Away is a very simple guitar riff and lyrics that match, but it's a song that came from the heart of one of the band's members. It's kind of a tune about a newly married couple...like most Prood songs it was recorded after one or two rehearsals…
Inspired by Mark Hall of Casting Crowns, by his sensational testamony
He'll Take Me As I Am by Tom Brandow
Feeling busted, bruised and broken, sometimes barely hangin on
calling out, to my savior, keep me safe and strong

These are the backing tracks for the full version of the song including the choral voices but minus the main vocal and harmony vocals. The song was created on a Roland XP-50 16 track workstation.
