Sometimes You Don't

A song I wrote over the last few days. Did a one-take-wonder on the recording, so it’s pretty simple. Hope you like it!

Sometimes You Don’t

Verse 1
Sometimes in the early morning hours
As the sun lights up the sky
I look back and think of all the life I’ve lived
As the troubles of today start to pile high

Verse 2
I guess I tried to do it my way
Sometimes it sure wasn’t a ten
Some turns might have been too twisty
Some straights could sure have used a bend

Chorus
Sometimes you don’t see the line until you cross it
Sometimes you don’t see the bridge until it burns
Sometimes you don’t feel the love until you’ve lost it
Sometimes you don’t live until you’ve learned

Verse 3
Each sunrise brings a blank canvas
Of what can be today
Bridges building toward the future
Strength for whatever comes my way

Such pathos. Your voice captures the sadness so well... Sometimes you don’t feel the love until you’ve lost it..."

That chorus really struck me. Beautiful all the way through. The third verse, in particular, brings out the optimistic view. It’s never too late .
