RPM 2k22
been so long, without your touch
been so long, I want so much
to finally feel anything at all
to finally feel anything at all
as I brush against you walking down the hall
soon all my waiting will be over
patiently await the…
Carmen and Waldo decide to travel together. See some of the places Carmen loves and then some new place they can discover together.
So now we’re finally together
And all the world is our stage
We’ll create our own show
What are we waiting…
Excellent album, completely immersed in the story. Not only is this great songwriting but also great storytelling. The songs themselves have such an emotional connection to the listener; from fleeting discovery, to uncertainties, to outward optimism. This is such a great listen.
Waldo finds Carmen in a cafe. They reunite and are overjoyed.
I knew after all was said and done
I would find you here
You followed me following you
but I found you dear
You only had my plans
To guide you
I only had the clues left…
RPM 2k22
you can't remember anything tonight
cause you lost the feeling, lost the feeling
the tide is turning, the shoreline is in sight
but you've lost the feeling, lost the feeling
whenever all seems hopeless try
to remember all…
Carmen doesn't think she can wait around for Waldo so she takes his travel plans and heads out after him. He didn't leave a set order of where to go so she just takes the route that makes the most sense.
I know all about the world
I’ve…

While Carmen is supposed to be away for a couple month, Waldo decides he is going to try to gain some travel experience. He feels inadequate and like Carmen thinks less of him for it.
I can’t seem to figure out,
why I can’t measure up…
**Song-writing Demo for FAWM 2022**
Song number 13

UPDATE: 8 Hours after posting I just spotted that I listened to and favourited a song called... um... "We're Done" by oldfolks2 - check it out…
I had your FAWM playlist going and sort of forgot I was supposed to be active listening, but this one pulled me right back into it... then I saw your liner notes. I know the feeling of not being happy with something but needing to get it out, but this is great. I'm curious to see what you do with it, because I think it works far better than you it seems.
You better close the stadium with this one, because all those lighters and voices in unison are going to violate some sort of by-law.
Waldo learns about Carmen's travels and all the places she has been. He is envious of her stories.
I didn’t think about the world
As something to explore like you have
I know I’ve wasted time
Catching up on something so vast
Will be hard…
Cool mood and vibe. I'll echo an earlier comment about this being the most accessible of your songs, but that's not a bad thing. This reminds me of something from a Brian Ferry album.
Waldo meets Carmen in a cafe in a small town. Waldo has never left the town he grew up in and she seems very worldly. This attracts him instantly.
What am I waiting for
I’ve opened up the door
Hey, I feel, something come over me
I’ve never…

I developed a strong obsession with the building blocks of pop songs and tried to craft one. Unfortunately, I wrote it in a key that was high enough that the combination of the rapid-fire words and the pitch nearly made me pass out while singing…

Wow... just, wow. Love the varying guitar textures.

Didn’t feel that long actually
Yay, they find each other! Love how this song ties the entire story together. Very sweet piano led track.
This one has a nice flow to it, both instrumentally and lyrically.
I love how this story is unfolding, very gripping. Emotive vocals. Completely committed to this album.
I'm glad I'm not alone on liking this one :)
Oh gosh, lovely middle eight! Totally relatable and humanistic song as well, exploring feelings of doubt and inadequacies in a relationship.

There's something so melancholy yet outward looking about this song. Main and bg vox are great (love the falsetto sections), catchy horn sections.

I love the premise of this project! Sweet and catchy chorus and melody. The "I want you in my life" part just seems so honest and heartfelt.
Church of England demands to know why this is not considered album material!
I love it when you sound like Elliott Smith.
Super classy.
Oh this is wonderful! Just a flipping great song!
What the Hell Wilsun... Your outtakes sound better than my actual album. You need to stop being so hard on yourself, this song is excellent!
This song is great! Very fun!
Digging this.
More wonderfulness from Megan - much sweetness to love here.
