RPM 2011
No explanations left to give apologies over
She wanted more than the story, but nobody told her
I hear the insane are hardly worth the medication
But she'd like the story just the same, for when she gets older
It's not the end…
RPM 2011
Wait for the room to focus
Feeling around for closure
The whiteness of my skin
The pale reflecting eyes
The beaty of total darkness
Move to the door and open
Room after room of sorrow
Breathing through your mouth
Flooding from your eyes…
I haven't tried the vox pipes in a few months. I've been sickly and singing was out of the question. After 24 days of instrumental RPM, I started getting back to 99%.
Might as well sing right? Better yet , let me trash the greatest song of…
Stormin' cover! Loving your 12 string stuff.
We will have no shooting of Geas, wild or otherwise. I saw UH supporting Yngwie Malmsteen in the 90s - total entertainment.
Lyrics:
======
i understand what you've all taught me
i finally learned what you've all tried to teach me
I need to be something much worse
patience is not a virtue, loyalty means nothing and i
oh I just need to find a way to
trade in my values…
(they were armed cars -- though it's a post-peak oil world somehow i still have everyone driving cars everywhere. so much for concept album, geez al. also, the lyric was intended to be "two armed cars", but it's funny to picture "two-armed cars". they might also be, as xkcd would have it, "sweet ass-cars").
Jamming with a couple buddies. I screwed the lyrics up but it was fun to do. Who doesn't want to at least try an AC/DC tune?
A live recording:
Me: Vox, Bass
Joel: Guitar, Backing Vox
Chris: Drums, Backing Vox
Aw, we tried to make this a bit more pro, but sometimes the really fun moments in life are fleeting. So here it is warts and all. But don't mind that - just get out onto the dance floor with Reg! It's ok: he's up to date on his shots.

Lyrics influenced by a conversation with a friend whose daughter was in a really bad way. Kind of set the mood for large parts of the challenge for me this year.
New version uploaded 12 Dec 2010.
Man... As the playlist runs down into the 2010 RPM submission, I realize that I need to hit the stop button or I'll be up all night listening to Strummindude's incredible music... I'LL BE BACK!!!
To conclude the album, here is the title track in a full band setting, featuring the great Rob Wirensjo on a riveting piano and also Hank Johnzon doing a jazzy pedal. The arrangement is a little reminiscent of turn of the 19th century can-can…
Soooooooooo good, Jana. Really a brilliant album. I will be playing this beautiful song over and over in the coming days. Anyone who listens to this album and doesn't come away with a smile (especially after hearing this sweet closing track) needs to get their heads checked... or kicked... their choice. Just outstanding, Jana, truly outstanding!

One of my all time favorite NY tunes (and that's really saying something)... nice one, esp. the extra bendy guitar parts - Neil would approve!
