Background music for a fun father/daughter YouTube video editing collaboration/experiment (embedded here.) My daughter and I filmed and edited the movie, and I wrote the music after hearing some video-game music my daughter wanted me to emulate…
This is a little riff I've been carrying around for a few years from my Nozomi Phoenix days in NYC. A dreamy sequence, that reminds me of a Grimm tale.
it is a slow evolution of harmony. it is anti-entropy. the music grows from electronic noise. it becomes strong, beautiful. chaos begets serenity. it is a delight.

I had the idea I would put words to some of your music. And I am working on it. But I was listening to this and 3 verses fell out onto paper in about a minute. So hope you don't mind if I make a song out of this one first...
@drakonis: yes this track is mostly field recordings cut together, but I did not make the recordings myself. They are from the freesound project - http://freesound.org - recorded by a variety of people. Their usernames are "eyecandyuk", "morgantj", "MisterPeter", and "gmni". Counting in Japanese is not easy :-)
For my friend and coworker, because he certainly deserves it.
This song is friends with [song for themcgruff](http://alonetone.com/sudara/tracks/song-for-themcgruff)
Sweepingly romantic. I probably wouldn't pan the instruments so far apart, it sounded a little "spread out" in headphones. But the lyric tune and the nice orchestration were very sweet. I see a father smiling. :-)
Nan desuka? Trippy... This is what was going through my mind after a long lecture on the myriad prefixes used when counting different shapes in Japanese, just as I was falling asleep in class. Very intriguing use of sound bytes... field recordings I assume?
Lyrics:
I know your secrets
I know that you’ve been bleeding
I feel your anger
And every single feeling
I was your mask, my friend
And only friend that you had
I’ll come to save you
And be your mask again
I am your “outside”
I shade the inner…
Thanks for checking out my stuff. I dig this tune.. kind of a soft death metal. i like the opening drum.
Your right about the bass on my song. You just inspired me to redo it. check back in a while, it will probably be a lot darker. Later.
I see we share a taste for noise. I dig the opening midi/key rhythm. Thanks for the advice. I'm still working on the mix for layering noise on "Side Effects". check back in a couple of weeks and it should be cleaned up.
Just stopped by to return the appreciation, but i LOVE this tune!! The sarcastic comments... haven't enjoyed something like that in a while. Just a thought, ever think about swapping the effect of the melody singer and the talking voice? I think it could be an interesting mix. But i am known to be wrong... alot...
"So I imagine that the Theocrat of Pan Tang (after a hard day of summoning awesome horrors from other planes to do his bidding) drops in to the gardens of pain to catch some of the Hwamgaarl Cabaret."
Tonight's performance features the Bechstein…
This is a live recording of a set I did with guitarist Mike Levine on a University of New Hampshire radio show. This is one of the 'songs' we did. It is a 5-tune Irish fiddle set that was previously done by the great Irish fiddle player Martin…
Gumbo, you are right...those are the correct song titles. I am a huge fan of Martin Hayes..and Dennis Cahill. What a combo...love the dynamics between the two. I encourage everybody to check them out.

I believe the tunes are
Paul Ha'penny / The Garden of Butterflies / The Broken Pledge / The Mother and Child Reel / Toss the Feathers
I turned it on and now I have to listen to the end again!

Very Cool- I like the ambient quality of this
Moving and atmospheric piece, perfect company for the video but stands well on it's own. Very nice!
You are a master. I am grasshopper.

you make it so nice to be alone on the beach with headphones.
где сам играешь / в живую/ - звучит очень хорошо а дальше компьютерная музыка надоела уже

aching chord changes there, very pretty, and wonderfully played, intimately recorded.

Ab minor my new favourite key! Well done! Totally fits with my mood at the end of this tiring day...
