Trading Smiles
Trading smiles on a cloudy day
Wish good fortune come your way
A passing glance, I’m on my way
Trading smiles
Courtesy seems all but gone
No idea what went wrong
For most of us, it’s been too long

Goodness, I have a lot of listening-catch-up to do! Great slide work and patiently played, as is fitting for the song. I like how you don't rush but, rather, find a groove immediately which enables your listeners to relax and enjoy. The groove phenomenon is true of all your songs!
I missed this one Bethan's beautiful vocal and Lisa's playing along with you guitar a wonderful piece of work what collabs were made for....excellent job all round.....
Lyrics
Cry of Love
Cry of love, heard in the meadow
Watching the wind blow
With love in the air
Cry of love, answered by another
Who courts the same lovers
With sounds of despair
Cry of love, heard in the daylight
Still crying…
I stopped back for another listen this morning! "The Minstrel Show" goes good with a cup of Coffee.
I noticed the '39 Ford. My Dad used to have one. I remember sitting on the bumper with my shotgun as he drove it down the dirt roads in the evening. We always got a couple grouse for dinner that way. I was probably around 10 years old.
A remake of an old song, this is my version as I wrote it. Going to get the Good wife to record her version. Fight, Fight !!! Looking back Imspired of course by the Good wife, also we had just saw The Jersey Boys on stage at the West End. What…

Another gem. You got me laughing.

I like your optimism! ( it's not if . . it's when )
Based on an improvisation by Rog Hildreth, Stuart Jewkes and Tom Goy. We used to live in university halls together and would frequently improvise songs as people entered the room. The best of these was for Riona. Stu and I recreated it here with…

I think this was the first Blues I wrote, about 5 years ago.Changed the tempo & got my mate Dave to play harmonica on it. Thanks Dave.Listening to the old version, couldn't remember what I played so had to revamp it, old age!!! DOH !!!!!
A NON Banjo-centric song that pokes a bit of fun at the zaniness of the 1980s.
This is the G-rated version. There is a PG-13 version with one additional verse which contains some unvarnished language. You can get that version on my site…

Good one Roger! You mentioned "Remake" but I don't believe I've heard it before.
I'm on my second listen. It's very interesting but totally unexpected. Something about it is very facinating. It might be the driving rhythmn.
This reminds me of when we used to play together. Sometimes I miss that.
I just found this! Buck , , , you are the Master. Absolutely beautiful.
I enjoyed that ... Nice Song.

That's pretty darn good, especially for the situation you described. It's really fun that you caught it on tape.

This is beautiful. You have captured that loneliness humanity with a hint of triumph in the end.
Nice work for a first song! The harmonica adds a lot, and, as Steve mentioned, the tempo adds a lot.
The mandolin is a nice touch. A very pretty and poignant song.
Amen Brother! I thought I was listening to David Bromberg there for a second. Good message.
Good entertainment this morning! Well played my friend, and the lyrics are hilarious. I like your trailer too.
