2010 RPM Challenge
i like this a lot. the first thing that comes to mind is nostalgia. the loops are very well put together, i found myself just staring off into the middle distance, pushed into some emotions unintentionally by the guidance of this track.
you have a very nice style.
by any chance do you listen to bibio?
This is the first tune for my 2010 RPM Challenge.
A bit short...my first attempt earlier in the evening (completely different tune) I ended up scrapping at 1:30 a.m., so this one was done in just a few minutes...

triple favourite!!! man i love this. reminds me of something. not sure what but its kick ass. RPM seems to be going really well for people this year.. not me yet unfortunately!! Good luck with the rest doug!
I like a bit of Mr Young and often do a few of his songs at open mike nights etc. this is one recorded as it happened onto a hand held recorder. bit rough round the edges, but so is Neil.
Well the votes are in and nobody, who has commented, seems to think I have offended against Satie with this. That's kind of cool because this really is one of my favourite pieces of music and one that I hope, one day, to be able to play myself…
Kublai Khan attacked on Fukuoka Prefecture in 1281, mobilizing 140,000 soldiers and 4,000 ships. The Japanese defenders, numbering around 40,000, were no match for the Mongols and the invasion force made it as far as Dazaifu, 15 kilometers south…
for REALZ, this is way far from being done. this is an oldie from a previous duo I was in, VC Andrews, (http://www.myspace.com/vcandrews) and i wanted to give it new life. Listen to the old version at the myspace page to hear how it's going to…
Memories of walking a coonhound in the small hours around the empty structures of Baltimore's Artscape festival before dawn- silent ferris wheel standing behind the rows of booths, vacant carnival installations on the Charles St Bridge. In this…
Now ye sons of the kraaken, let's get to some honest pillaging, shall we? Aaaarh!

This very popular south eastern rock n' roll ballad was originally recorded in the late sixties by Rick's Continentals. Enjoy this new version and then check out the old one at www.RicksContinentals.com

I've been working on this one little by little; now I'm at a point where I do not feel like revisiting the feeling. Moves from 3/4 to 4/4, or so I think.. kind of like a 7/4 time sig but not really. typical glu instrumentation, etc.
Everyone…
This is a real old tune. I remember about 81 or so. My brother Asa wrote it.
I felt like recording something, so this is it.
A rude kinda fun song with that cowboy stylin' :)

Similar in feel to the other Fragile Moment track. Mostly acoustic guitars recorded sitting in my shop on the H4N and then finished up in Cubase just this morning. September 9 09. Maybe a nice one for bedtime

Gorgeous.
Loverly, Doug! Nice tone on that guitar.
Another lovely one! Looking forward to the next.
Dig all of the guitar layers going on in this one!
What a lovely track. Beautiful, strong and unspoilt, bit like Finisterre really.
There is a very pretty melody inside here.
Beautiful!
Yeah, I'd have trouble sleeping too with musical ideas like this.
Interesting sounds Doug. Colorful.
Woah, makes me think of a masqued ball, opium, and sooth sayers.
Pretty wacky stuff there man! Fun
I think if you pulled that off key flanger type effect back into key or normal after 30 secs or so it would be better.
Very cool mate nice one
Cool track!
Yes, very thought-provoking. Looking forward to your album!
Nice one man! Love those ebow melodies that come in near the end
*Love* it.
More great ambience, Doug. Almost trance inducing, recalls visions of hazy memories.
