This song was made by two different piano samples (both
from Sudara):
1. One was recorded by Sudara (and gang?) axing away at a hapless old piano in New Mexico.
2. today, I convinced Sudara to noodle on the piano and send it over to me…

The psyche is a weird place, I'll just talk about it musically.
The piece begins with the sounds of Sudara's autoharp, the weeping woodwind sounds of the clarinetist from Megafauna Lacrymosa , and a low kick-like percussive sound, which is…

This is a segment that's going into my piece "The Interview: When Words Fail". It's created entirely from a one second sample of a nervous swallow followed by a mouth click extracted from an interview. Overtones were manipulated to create the…
Beat created for vocal collaborator Du Yun, mixed with a slowed-down Medieval recorder estampie. Created while dwelling in the suburban wilds of Cape Coral, Lee County, FL.
This montage is about making music and what it means to people. It uses comments from a number of classical musicians interviewed for a radio series I record and produce called "The Main Street Sessions". The music is from "The Gospel of Thomas…
very cool collage! Sounds like the soundtrack to a music documentary trailer! And yes, I do wish that I was still living in the jungle! I miss waking up to birds and monkeys in the trees.
Well, there was this Spectrasonics contest... and songs had to be submitted by June 30th... so we finally started working on this one on the evening of the 29th. Yeah. We procrastinate.
After an adventure in re-recording the entire song down a third, we came back to the original, tightened and tuned.
Always the self flagellating perfectionist, it still needs a bit more love. Always the pragmatist, it is probably done for now.
"Night vision is the ability to see in a dark environment." Optically enhanced über-soldiers see through the dark, hunting and killing people for some reasons. Now try to take that definition in a metaphorical sense: "see in a dark environment..."
haunting... makes me feel like I am under military surveillance! Listen to this song alone at night on headphones to get the full effect! Nice soundscapes!
Legend has it. . .

Thanks for the head up on the new tune not working. Should be fine now! Really diggin' your songs. They are catchy in all the right ways! Didn't realize that you wrote these in Feb for the RPM challenge. Nice work, especially for such little time.
We had some people from Remix Fight remix Doctor P. and this one really caught our hearts. And luckily John Ingram graciously let us have it to put up here :) Enjoy. [right click on arrow and select 'save link as' to download]

Who knew that destroying a musical instrument could be so satisfying?
Oh man I love what you've done with this, absolutely love it!
Cool piece, love the textures. The classical gtr interplay with the synth, the pads...all of it. Cheers! Gary
ooo! I want the tracks! I want to make it a bossa nova track.
Why not, indeed. Distant voices / scratchy voices ---most compelling; thanks.

That's. Just. Great. Thank you for the music.
Well then, looks like we've started an inspiration feedback loop. I'll be trying again 8/30 if anyone is with me.
BTW this is one amazing piece of work. The bar is raised too high, and I can't see it anymore. Next time 'round I'll just stroll right under it.
Oh yeah great
Man, those first 25 or 30 seconds are so reminiscent of that feeling I get when the hallucinogens start to kick in.... so psychedelic!
Oooh- Love those chord changes! Great textures
