A cover of Iron Angel Forge's song from his 2009 RPM Challenge album, Not Forsaken. He is here at alonetone under the name IronAngel.
I haven't told him yet, though, so it's a surprise ;~)
this is the slightly sparkly version of my version of Moschell's "Boxes and Strings" from his 'Circus of Freaks and Fools' RPM Challenge CD. I recorded it as a video last night and redid it in the studio (unfinished sauna) today.
Written today.
recorded on an iMac with the internal mic and no headphones (!) so it's probably going to be muddy as hell, but that feels about right for now.
LYRIC:
Fill up the glass, Bartender
Ply your art
Quench the fire in here, now…
gotta love a good blues tune!
PS. thanks for the comment on Dubadadidabadu - yeah, the volume on the vocal is way too low - but i never got around to fixing it. The vocal (and a few other choice parts) are actually the work of another recent alonetoner, K. Scot Sparks.

This was the first time I'd fired up my telecaster and amp for a recording and it felt like sitting in Sun Studios or something. Amazing sound after playing just acoustic instruments for a year. It's the first take and I loved it!

A grief song. You know this place. If you don't then move on while you still can. Seriously. Don't click ..
This is a tidied up version, I managed to get rid of some of th noise and rebalance the vocals 18/3/09
Damn. The intro gtr, it's tone, what a great sound. It sounds like an old recording. I like how you left the ambient noise with it. What a great recording.

I had no idea myself - I just got into this morning and started to get the feel of the song and the house was all quiet and then presto - it was done. Now I should get back outside and get the scrap into the trailer like I'm supposed to!

Holy Smokes! I had no idea... heh.
Great Job! It sounds far better than my quick take still dripping from the shower did. Your guitar lines are much prettier as well!
Thanks Gumbo!

beautiful - and inspired by Dave' comment i have to chime in that it's like finding an old 78 with no label in a garage sale and taking it home and finding out it's Billie Holiday
this is one i have to stop tweaking - six versions and i still don't get what i hear in my head
would love some crit for this one as it's doing my head in
thanks
Here is the "more complete" track I promised with backing vocals.
A song about loving the real me...who do i see when i look in the mirror? Do I love what I see?....i really want to.
your wooden fingers have felt before

one of those 'it was written even before i started' songs that just rolls out like magic
i tried to keep it simple so as not to destroy the vibe
first finished (if unmixed) track for RPM 2010
Great Texas Blues song.I like the fact that a classic blues tune like this was written right here in East Texas. These songs are truly part of the history of this area, trains still run the tracks, but not nearly as important nowadays to the people…
This is really a true story.
No, really...
And our holiday gift to you & your friends. (Feel free to download it and share it with anyone who you think might enjoy it.)
Oh... by the way... acl is finally waking from a very deep slumber…
