Chain wrapped around the dog park gate
Weeds growing on the school yard lawn
Where has everybody gone
The chairs are stacked
And the stage is dusty
And my strings are getting rusty...

I agree with Guest (47.189.109.204) - "you're not done with this one" - I think there's another version, somewhere between the original and this one. It's a gorgeous song.

Andrew Russe (86.155.32.98) said Thursday Short but very sweet... These short ones encourage me to add all sorts of extra meaning myself as I'm listening. That's kinda what happens when we listen to songs anyway - no matter how much the lyrics are designed to lead us to certain conclusions or "points of view"... a song never really says what the songwriter thinks it says ... but these short ones encourage this "listener completes the song" process even more, they let my mind run free ... love it.

Have you made an effort to be in touch with the film makers in your part of the world? Your state probably has a film comission. If you haven't already, I suggest you do and then begin to find about what is in the works in your state and offer to submit music to the college and independent film makers.
I had this tune in my head for years before I finally sat down and recorded a quick draft of it. I would like to record this with real instruments (acoustic guitar + electric lead guitar).
Anybody interested in helping me?

Listening to this I see icicles melting as the sun comes up and the melted water flows into the gutter and then into the storm drain.....cars pass by and people run to the bus stop. Watch the passing storefronts as the town wakes up. Very evocative.
This is a page from my "sketchbook". I regularly sit with a guitar and just let the flow of thoughts drift up in words and progressions. I will rather "surf" an idea that arises on some set of words, but I don't "control" much of this. So it's…

Perfect!!!!!! This captures our collective experience completely!!!
Great imagery! Who would have thought a year ago that we would have a summer like this?
Mrs R has pointed out that she knows of at least two other Londons... and that it might not be obvious I mean London UK!
Like it. Love this: "stage is dusty / my strings are getting rusty". We had to look up corn hole, though, doesn't get played a lot in South London...
i think it's time for a knap

And a new verse! I listened to all three versions again - this is the one (which is probably a good thing, as it's the latest!!)

Love your picking on this and the beautiful old song.
You sure getting SOME deep bass out of whatever you are playing. I can see the snow blowing against the window. Your frozen breath as you sit in the frigid room. Fingers cut out in your gloves so you can feel the brittle keys.
Very nice song. I like your voices.
Crossing Guns and Roses and The Beatles...great mix and harmonies. Like the elongated beat.
You rock too...
Rockin'...makes me want to boogie...
I think the world changed on that day. This is very evocative. This piece could be called Alone Tones. PS...where did the name AloneTone come from?
Rock on...j mt
What a great story.
Like this! Reminds me of Gene Pitney.
I can't imagine what your standards are topping out at if you apologize for this mix. This is beautiful.

If you haven't already, I suggest you do and then begin to find about what is in the works in your state and offer to submit music to the college and independent film makers.
If I can figure out how to download this track I will add rhythm guitars.

Kicks ass. Love it. Wish I could do stuff like this. Sooooo poppy!
A cello with this would be so nice...or a whole bed of strings to undergird that melody.
Very nice. So clear and clean. Nice voice too. I see you collaborate with other musicians. Feel free to ask me to do background vocals.
Very pretty. And sad.

Like the use of the metaphor.
