Well, I sent this simple little arrangement off to Jana to see what he thought it needed. When he suggested a uke, I said "Go for it!"
He was right... Can't thank him enough for his contribution.

What does a songwriter do when he's addicted to Doctor Who (and his new very cute companion)? He writes...
Amy Pond
Red hair and that pretty face beneath it
My how you've grown up after oh so many years
I've only been away for ten or…
Hm. An ode to a pretty young redhead. Does your wife know about this? Just kidding.
Nice song, sir. And our family has started watching more and more of BBC America lately, too.

Well, screw the metronome, damn the torpedoes, and grab a capo!
Sometimes the best versions are the ones played fast and loose. Hope you enjoy this song adapted from one of my all-time favorite poems (I'm a bit biased since my dad wrote it…
So I dropped the guitar into DADGAD tuning for the first time, threw a capo on the third fret, rifled off something nice, and sent it to Movement to Contact for his contribution, got it back, did some mixing...
Here is the result.

Added a little more to this nice little change of strumming patterns played as an excuse to write a little love song.
I FOUND LOVE
You know I love you more than I
Ever thought one simple man could
You know I need you more than I

Other layers may or may not be in the works, but I thought I'd let everyone have a listen so far.
HERE WE ARE TODAY
How can it be so clear
In my mind
The first night you were here
Like going back in time
Sweet as summer wine
Your whisper…
Well, screw the metronome, damn the torpedoes, and grab a capo!

Messing with pitch adjustment in Garageband (and getting a bit carried away)... I use this primarily as a 90-second countdown for competitions in my 7th grade math class (kind of a Jeopardy theme song).
Someday I'll actually teach myself how to play this song for real... Only a drag-and-drop composition for now, but awfully nice to listen to (particularly the gentle part at around 2:00).
No, this is NOT me playing... Just some arranging of drop and drag samples out of Garageband for Mac I was messing around with while learning how the program worked a few years ago.
Well, this is the hastily written, poorly performed, weakly sung, badly mixed love song I threw together a few years back about the last time I saw the Northern Lights. It happened to be the night I fell in love with my future wife (and knew…
Sitting around in my shop a couple of days ago with the Goodall and the Zoom H4N. First time I've really messed with using the internal mics on the H4N in multitrack mode
Wow... So envious of such talent. This is just an outstanding track, Kirk. If ever you'd like to play anything (and I mean anything) on any of my tracks, just say the word! Damn this song is beautiful. I bow to the master.
Thanks for listening to this track... Of all the songs I've written (or should I say of all the songs that have written themselves through me), this one is my favorite.
Hey, great track, Peter!... And thanks for coming over to listen to some of my stuff... The tracks you tuned in to are seriously old and poorly performed, so please forgive the quality!
Comments on Keith Landry's stuff
Hey Keith - this is the demo vocal not the final one, but I'm happy if you're happy. Tess
Tess voice is just too got not to fave it myself.
That is one cool track mate.
Sounds good, Keith. Very nice. ER
the uke IS perfect, vox are signature. great tune
Very cool man, the uke makes for a good addition. :)
That's one for my collection. Nice collab.
True, he is right. An inspired addition Keith.

the magic of ...ONE!.... nice thoughts!
Thanks Rob! Glad you like the stuff... The new CD is currently in the works!
Hey, really nice cut! Just last night found the info you gave me about your work. I look forward to checking it all out. Talk to you soon, Rob DuBoff
sounds great
Just messing with some simple added arrangement... It'll probably need some volume work with the extra guitar tracks, but I kinda like the additions.
Nice!
Sweet little ditty.
sounds like slightly more up tempo than I remember the first version... i like it :)
Yep i think you put the last nail in this one man.

Two minutes of pleasure. Thank you

I apologize in advance for the slight run into "cheesy-ness" at around 0:40... A bit "Romeo's Tune-ish" there for a minute, but all in good fun.
Just some more drop and drag... Personally, I'm addicted to the little "Thomas Crown-ish" piano runs at around 1:30.

Ah... This track is just good for the soul.
Ha! This is great fun to listen to... Love the sax! Enjoy that couch!
"A wild time is starting down at Kappa Phi... You haven't caught my eye... That might be a lie."
Very nice!

A little rebalancing... Some arrangement starting at 2:00 or so... But same sweet little song and same incredible vocals from Sister Savage.
Very nice track... Great arrangement... Simple and sweet. Nicely done!
Hey kid! Great song! Great harmonies! Soooo good to hear new stuff from you... More please!
Great track!

Wow... Great track! I need to find some time to listen to the am/fm dreams complete playlist.
Ah, great arrangement, Richard!
Hey Richard! Great stuff... LOVE the strings!!! Great "sit back, think, and feel" music for me... Just outstanding.
All right, now I'm really envious... Great stripped down rhythm guitar kicking into one of the catchiest songs I've ever heard. Just great stuff!!!
