There is an interesting story to that song. Long winded but interesting. It seemed like all day from morning until evening, every story someone shared was geared tward some horrible thing that they had heard about. I got home and was watching a show about the crazy ______ (<-- instert words here) that kidnap women...just horrible, horrible stuff. Then my wife began telling me about a man who was going to put down a dog, but he had a felony and could not get a gun, so he took a knife and stabbed it to death. It had been a very long and stressful day and these stories just started to really mess with my head. Seriously? What is up with people like that. So I grabbed my guitar and was going to work on our jam a bit. Put the capo on and the first note I hit just sent my mind spinning. Just as you put it, i grabbed my notebook,wrote down everything that came to mind. Picked up my guitar and turned on the mic and it just came out. Sometime's I feel I have to release whatever has been dwelling before I can get back to my usual state of mind. Drinking coffee, jamming good music, and getting focused for what is ahead. In short, I still have my capo on the guitar and should have something killer back to you tonight. Talk at you soon Keith -JG

Faved instantly upon hearing that guitar. Man, have you ever heard of Steve Boynton? Great vocalist, songwriter, guitarist... Similar delivery at times... He's got nothing on you.

Faved within five seconds. What a perfect finale to such an incredible album. This is about the most perfectly produced thing I've ever heard. Every song has been given the care and treatment it deserves. A brilliant understanding of lyrical structure vs. looseness. "I cause trouble... I cause trouble." Truly one of the great American albums of our time. I'm not exaggerating. It's this good. I'm equal parts awed into never feeling like I deserve to call myself an artist and inspired to create music at a level I never have before... All I can say is thank you, Jarrett, for sharing your creative genius.

Crazy good percussive arrangement along with the signature vocals with spot-on harmonies. No-brainer on faving each and every song on this album.

Truly a master of setting the tone with perfectly played intros. Love the pure acoustic arrangement of this track. It allows the listener to really listen to the intimacy of the lyrics. Like being privy to a life-changing private conversation.

I've run out of things to say. I'm left speechless by the scope, vision, and flawless execution of this album. ...Which was recorded, mixed, and mastered in just TWENTY-NINE DAYS. I am so ill-equipped to describe all that is good about this album. Definitely one that could never be properly described in words... It needs to be heard.

Faved instantly upon hearing that crunchy guitar... And damn, I wish I could sing like this. Every song so distinct, yet all so perfectly Anchorage-Drifty. Submit this album to the Grammy nomination committee now. How can such and incredible songwriter, singer, musician not be lauded by the music industry? I'm not kidding.

Such a slinky smooth guitar througout... And what harmonies. "Nothing will die on my watch." God, what a perfect line to repeat, and brought to a perfect conclusion with "except for the days of my life." Dammit... I wish I wrote that. And now with an equally perfect electric joining for a brief appearance... This album is truly a masterpiece.

...And as a testament to the true goodness of this song, it goes for 5-plus minutes and I'd be happy to let it run even longer.

Man, what an opening build into some good ol' fashioned kick ass rock and roll. Every song sets its own table so perfectly. Mixed to perfection. Makes you work just enough to hear the lyrics... Such an incredible live feel from a studio album. Totally blown away.

Perfect lead in on the electric and flawless drums and bass joining the fray. Love the perfect balance allowing the acoustic guitar to ring through at just the right level at all the right times. John Mayer would kill for this song.

Holy-crap-good vocals. First rate wall-of-guitar-sound production. Tight-and-edgy-all-at-once drums. Perfect arrangement and harmonies. First rate... Simply first rate.
