Whoa. What an awesome sound. The singing evokes a folk or maybe even country song, and then the organ drones and syncopated percussion refer to hip-hop.
I fell in love with his track on your RPM player. Great to rediscover it here! The moment the guitar started up I was like, "What is this? I know this already!"
Faved again
RPM 2011 number 2. Inspired by an ex-friend of mine who had the most dazzling rose tinted glasses. Always used to envy the simplicity of his view and how nothing could ever get to him (everything gets to me).. since i knew him I know a lot of…
I don't know why, but for a few seconds I hated this, then my brain wised up :) Excellent track!! and as everybody else has mentioned - great vocal. Look forward to your album this year :)
I guess this would be the "centerpiece" of the album. Like the rest of the album it really stumbles along the line between droney and simply repetitive, and it needs a bit of a reworking to reach its potential.
This is a bonus track as it didn't make the album
For those of you who know my stuff - does this sound like it works? or is it too much like filler - the vocals are effected, there's a drum loop - the guitar is just chopped out of a jam - i…
one of those 'it was written even before i started' songs that just rolls out like magic
i tried to keep it simple so as not to destroy the vibe
first finished (if unmixed) track for RPM 2010
I know I sent you a private message about this at RPM, but it's tracks like this that remind me what I love about music. Thanks so much and faved (as well as a few others) I'm still only halfway through too :), I think I'm gonna have to make an RPM mix CD this year!
There's something about my speakers that love your tracks! It must be a mixture of the production, ambiance, percussion (when applicable), mic position and mostly the performance! Great work!
Is that Cygnus? :) Enjoying the tracks, thanks for the comment! My computer went skewiff a few months ago so I haven't been about here in a while - starting from scratch.. I'll listen to more when I get the chance.. good stuff..

Just in case you hadn't decided - this or 'For The Day' would be my choice for preferred track

Faved again. Edel's voice goes beautifully with those run on guitar chords.
Chill. thanks , I need chill at this stage of the game.
Is this live? It sounds bloody great! Faved.
Do you guys have real drums? (If they're sampled then you've done an amazing job!) I'm jealous :)
well done ! glad you succeeded with the challenge !
Diggin' it. Spent some time this morning listening to Yo La Tengo and this is fitting right in (hope you're not offended by the comparison).
Glad I stumbled onto this. Great track.

This album's grew on me as it was playing! I really like the vocal on this one.
I agree with Vincent, this is one of my favorite tracks from RPM this year :)

This one's great too, very cinematic, reminds me a bit of Yello.
Floaty and meditative! Buen trabajo!
Great opening track, was gonna say something about 'The Band', but then I read the other comment :)
