At the end of 2003, I was recording a bunch of covers in my basement in Portland, Oregon. This was the only original recording from that time. I was pretty bummed out at the time...
This is a track from my abandoned "Weekend Follies" album, which was recorded in my parent's basement in Mercer Island, Washington during the summer of 2003.
Hey Alec, I dig the songs!
I like that they're a little rough around the edges -- kinda like seeing a loose sketch in someone's sketchbook vs. a super-refined hyper realistic oil painting.
I also had the most depressing period of my life living in Los Angeles, and I doubt that's a coincidence, it's a tough city fer' sure. Things in my life improved tremendously as soon as I left.
Anyway, cheers for sharing the songs and staying so productive during a dark time despite it all!

i don't wanna get out of here, and it’s crystal clear
if I can’t learn from my old mistakes, it’s a sign
face, i’m never gonna face the day,
I’ve always been raced away
i don’t know what is required
stare out through terminal wires
see…
I've been listening to a lot of [hiroshi yoshimura](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7aYjRl_6Zw).
This is played on my Wurlitzer. The other instruments are a prototype version of the additive synth I'm building where you can control the ADSR…
I don't know anything about this stuff, but I can tell there is some beautiful math going on in those sine waves! I also love the colors of that interface too :)
My wife said this sounded like a level of a video game where you are racing down endless pews of a church. You know, a pew level.
Another in the slow motion bach series, this time paired with the tart frenetic flavor of 90s breaks…
The last 6 months, I've been sight reading a Bach Chorale each morning (there are 400 of em!) and occasionally one sticks out that I really like.
This one sounded great on the Wurlitzer, which is literally note for note playing the chorale…
Draft arrangement of a favorite song.
Wurlitzer, Moog Model D, Banjo and some Rodney advice.
Thanks to Almut, Mars, Floss for vocal chorus help and Markus for the beautiful scratchy baroque violin.

This song is hilarious and great. When did all these tracks appear? I have some catching up to do.
I found the lyrics deep and moving. A nice composition.
This is nice...reminds me some what of Jonah Matranga or, his pseudo name "onelinedrawing". Nice work!
It's good to see you. Love the movement in this track.
Lovely gentle emotive vocal. Very nice in a melancholy kind of way.

Yes please! I would love to hear some wurli/synth magic from that beautiful brain of yours.
Beautiful!
Beautiful!
Dreamy!
I love the sound of this one! If these tracks are an album, I'm here for it.
It's been so fun waking up to a new track every day. Your output lately is epic! Keep it up, man. I've been enjoying these tunes.
*new official platform theme song*
The wave form of this track is very satisfying :)
I love the mood of this one. Listening over and over while coloring...
I love that pitch-shifted singing (if that's what it is!) Still retains your unique vocal quality, but in an interesting new range!
Would play this game! ;)
Congrats on the new album! I'm looking forward to listening to it this afternoon while I work. Will buy on iTunes if it goes up!

Thanks for this. I hope you are staying safe over there in your corner of the world. Miss you, dude.
This would be a good track for runnnnnnnnnnnnnning
Fun track!
It's so inspiring to get all these new tracks! Thanks, Ben. Keep up the good work, buddy.
Damn, these are so fun! It would make a great little EP. Also for someone like me on the "outside" that mixing graph/chart/screen is like... WHOA...
Damn, I wish we could send this back in time to Bach! :)
More 6:00+ tracks pleaz!
