used to know your breathing
in the dark beside me
now the nights repeating
all my faults and broken dreams
Chorus
oh-oh-oh-oh
I’m not sure how to begin

Sometimes it's impossible to know how to express what true art does to your heart and mind. But everything about this... I hope you know how good this is. This is that kind of art.
You say "We look happy here"
Pointing at a picture frame
My arm around your shoulder
all this happiness, never any pain
Your mom pinned it on the fridge
Called it "perfect finally"
But no one saw you later
yelling "This is killing me…

I walked in and you were wearing that red dress
Said you bought it from a second-hand store
someone said it didn’t fit, it wasn’t right
someone didn’t want it anymore
I said: "Baby That's like me and you
'Cause once I didn’t fit and it broke…
(Week 5 of 52)

I know you couldn't change my mind
But all that glitters, all that shines
Never felt like it was mine
Learned the train lines, dives and bars
Learned to sleep with honking cars
But all the…

(Song 4)
Hair net tossed on the table
Name tag still pinned to my shirt
Work boots wait on the front step
but they might walk out on me too
I've got no one left to care for
No one left to hear my prayer
Talking to the kitchen window…

(Song 3 this year)
When you're younger,
you're everything or so it seems
Then you start becoming a ghost in the years between
People say things about you like
"He was always so nice"
"Such a good guy" , "Such a shame"
or " he always…
Remember the cul-de-sac nights
cold beer, a cigarette to share
the creak of our old porch swing
smoke curled like chinese dragons in the air
Chorus
The porch light flickers,
But it’s not lit for me anymore.
I know there’s nothing waiting…
Play it loud where you can dance!
Boom Boom Girl (c) Nick Torres 9/25/25
She struts in with a kick
A snap
A spin
Eyes like fire
You know she always wins
Boom-boom girl
Got the whole world spinnin'
She’s got that boom-boom
Shakin…

The best covers are the ones that have a unique take. BTW did you know Mick Jagger sang backup vocals on the original?
Very nice interpretation, the sparseness really adds. Addictive.
And thanks so much for your kind words. They really mean a lot.
When you feel you have to tell them Don't keep quiet..........
Keep Quiet
I think I’ve got it
I think I’m begining understand
That I am nothing but an ordinary man
I live
I dream
I try to keep quiet and work…
Another one for Steve, our bass player….a BIG Planet of the Apes fan.
I never followed Those movies, but he assures me that he’s kept within the bounds of the narrative.

Friends…
This song was a favorite of a dear friend we lost a year ago. It felt like a good song to practice the piano. This was the first try -- not that it was good, but it just kept getting worse.
The vocals sound distant because they are... the microphone…
this is a new song not much to it , all instruments played by myself , drums , programmed ,by myself, vocals and backing vocals by myself, thanks for your time ,cheers tony cee
Wow, I recorded something very similar a while back called “don’t sleep in the subway” Made with all random sounds, a car door, industrial fan, a dumpster closing, a speaker and spell. I’ll have to see if I can find it.
There's a story behind this that's uninteresting to anyone but me. A short version is that my old, broken guitar (made semi-immortal with duct tape and instrumental willpower) needed to play this Dylan song before it is laid to rest.
Comments on Nick Torres's stuff
I agree with Mike...

Goosebumps and tears. Brilliant again.
Wow...nice build up! Amazing vocal. Another GREAT song.
Hey, this is Froggy/Abby from FAWM... do you make CDs? I love to buy a CD of yours or anything on Bandcamp?
Amazing lyrics!
The groove had me halfway through the first verse, and then pulled me enjoyably in the stream---------Great job!
I love this, Nick. Great job.

Nice playing and recording!
Sounds like it ended on the cutting room floor after a tense debate about what goes on Sabbath Bloody Sabbath! And I love that album. Nice!
Really beautiful playing
In my head I can see a video of someone walking backward through an empty carnival, all the lights on, the carousel music playing in reverse
Stunningly good and heartfelt. Swordfishtrombones vibe!
Were you the singer for The Faces in 1969? Nice song, excellent vocals

Just browsing and this one came up, it's like if the Cranberries and B52's took a trip to the 60's and took a trip
I wouldn't have been surprised if Neil Young's voice came on after the intro, but then again I really like Tom Waits. I feel your pain...
Nice work
Really nice acoustic work, and this is supposed to be a compliment, but your voice is perfect for Dylan.
