They tore down the theater, now there's nothing to do on those summer days, well anyways...Who cares?
We all drink black coffee, and we smoke and we talk about poetry, philosophy and fear...as days fly by another wasted year.
I finally left…
Great recreation of early 60's pop sounds, very cool. The only thing that really gives it away is the vocal harmony, not sure why. Maybe it would have been doubled or something, or buried further in the mix.
Reminds me of some Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd -- back when the were The Pink Floyd and released not LPs but rather 45s like See Emily Play. Very groovy, cool, far out sounds. Thanks for reflecting this juicy era of music!
She wakes across the ocean, and sighs when she discovers...the man who's sleeping with her looks like her last two lovers. No one wants to be a banana head.
Another number that reminds me of The Outsiders and The Youngbloods and other bands and songs of the Psychedelic '60s and the reign of the hippies over the music industry in that era. Solid GOLD, man!
Only the 2nd time in my 54 years on the planet that I've heard a song sung from the perspective of one who died in a car crash, so while I can't say it hasn't been done before, it's still rather rare. What I can say is that this one is by far the superior of the two. Great job -- lyrically, vocally, and musically!
I’m on AloneTone as Gene Eric Mann (generic man), Justin Otter Guy (just another guy), Merry Bear, and Nightmoth. I really appreciate that you listened to ALL my Nightmoth recordings – those old children songs are particular horrid numbers, recorded before I knew much about what I was doing. Anyway, I’m here to return as much of the time and ear you lent to me as I can and play your 13 gems.
I already dig “Breakfast” and “Boyfriend” so I’m sure I’ll get a kick from the rest. Your style turns me on and tickles my fancy. Thanks for the listen and always, always, ROCK ON!
Steve developed this beautiful track with his ukulele and I added some lyrics to make a "positive message" song for the times we are in.... Hope it makes you smile too...
It Won’t Be Like This Forever
Sitting here on my front steps
Listening…
A song I made up in retro style, just for a bit of fun ;- ) I used various guitars. It's partly sung in English and some of it in French. I try to do my own mixing, so don't expect too much LOL... Regardless, I hope you enjoy it ! Kind regards…
Its Groundhog Day again......
All day I’m chasing tomorrow
Cause I need Tomorrow to get away from today
But tomorrow becomes just like any another day
It just morphs into today
I don’t know where this life going to
It don’t stick to any…
from the album "the Machine"
such delight to find you
in my mind moving
around my point of view
press escape, there's no return
once you made the choice
it's yours but you can not refuse
whats your game, once you choose
stack the deck…
wrote this song back in 2017 when i had too many thoughts i wanted to express in music, so i wrote a song about having that instead of the thoughts themselves lol...
not 100% how i'd like it to have turned out, but i like it all the same... especially…
(Remastered 22/10/2021)
Okies, so I'm working on some other thing and it's taking a while... drums to do and wotnot. But in the middle of it I'm digging how my Martin acoustic is working out. You probs won't even be able to hear it amongst…
Here's the first of several versions that you'll see from a collaboration across the inter webs started by Greg Connor. He got us together on the Zoom and then look what happened!!!! Music and lyrics collaborated with the talents of Steve Krell…
Looks like I'm a little bit drunk, but hey, I don't care LOL... It's been a while since I've uploaded something, but no excuse now during lockdown time :-) I still don't have proper recording facilities and I'm forever trying to find my way…
Written for the April 2020 RPM mini-challenge. I hoped for an EP and ended up with a single song. The song is largely recorded on a T25 mic I built for Brian of A Beautiful Scene as a means to test the mic. It's pretty solid if you ask me…
Strange Times is an international collaboration between Roger Harris & myself. Roger initiated the idea with the first verse and chorus along with a chord progression. I added the last verse and took some liberty in producing this version…
Um - yeah. There are a few naughty words - many apologies.
This is a bonus track -- unless I can't think of a legitimate track 10. If so, then this is both the highlight and crowning achievement of the album, and I totally intended it to be.
As a child my mother once climbed up a tree. From there she shouted to her twin brother "It is the roof of heaven showing from here"
Taivaan katto means the roof of heaven in English
Heres one I found on my Hard drive an experiment with Igor 2016 part of a project called mmmm I believe (Hi Igor its been a while...) anyway hope you enjoy
Comments on The Proods's stuff
Back for another listen... love it :-)
Love the retro vibe of this - quite "Byrds-y", great vocal harmonies. Thanks for the kind words on Slapshot, by the way :-)
Ah the worst kind of ending…but so beautifully weaved. Love your style.
Lovely stuff... reminds me of The Kinks :-)
love the guitar tone on this...great track...takes me back to a more innocent time ...which is a good thing...
Ah Boston! I've been there! Anyway, this is a quirky little ditty. Cute!
Instant sunshine!
Nicely done.

I dig how y'all blended, mixed down and mastered the vocal tracks -- fabulous job!
A wee bit of Hawaiian spice sprinkled upon this one -- tasty. Y'all blend superbly, vocally. Loving that Youngbloods-like guitar effect. Beautiful!
Y'all did an amazing, fabulous, exceptional job with this number. Excellent! ROCK ON!

Dig that guitar! Nice effect, sweet picking. Groovy, colorful sounds all around.

Things that go together: lava lamp, tie-dyed shirt, incense smoke, headphones, and music by The Proods!
The folks under 40 between 1964 and 1970 would have ate this song up! A brilliant composition and a delicious production!

I can relate. Nice song.

You’re lyrics hit the nail dead on. Great work!
I like the mix...retro style is a good description. The song itself is great.
Wow! Maybe my new favorite Brett Warren track! Too great, it's kind of a call-back to your earlier songs...in my humble opinion.
cool
This makes me nostalgic for underground 80's music...It's so RICH and imaginative.
I love this....it has a This Mortal Coil vibe, but it's original. Too cool!
A very pleasant surprise! Terrific!
You've caught a Toots Thielman vibe...very cool.
Perfect.
The name itself is BRILLIANT! Creates a mood that lets you know what to expect.
Perfect mood music for me right now!
So excellent!
You have a great voice.
