Hi Richard, the tuning I used for the Magic of Belief has much more than major or minor and I used almost all of the. The opening plays with the chords CDG, CEbG CEb^G (a "neutral" third about half way between minor and major) and CEG (except the E is a purer 3rd than 12 equal)
The main motive bottoms out at what my ears are telling me is a neutral interval against a D neutral chord (but I'm not 100% sure, I didn't work it out - could be D minor)

well this is a bit awkward, but i have been chatting with Nosda Cariad about the various plus and minus of sound settings ie reverb,,, sometimes i feel like i have used too much, as sort of a crutch. in this version the reverb has been toned down…

First of my rpm traks,, this year i am going to try to learn a bit about composing for midi orchestra, with that in mind i have began (in jan) to read several books on midi orchestration, orchestration and counterpoint,,, while these will probably…
Richard, I have enjoyed every second of your magical journey through midi. It has been utter bliss to hear all of them together.
Congratulations on a superb album.
Cheers Bee

Maybe the last for 2012 Reg got the Acoustic out on this one and a touch of guitar fx for the vocal hope you enjoy.......Happy New Year....Although Reg is a miserable sod........
4 stereo guitar tracks played out one at a time.
Another late night - early morning recording.
I like to keep a positive attitude about the things that haunt me, but sometimes dreams change course unexpectedly, and the worms creep in.
wow,,, i wandered to this,, after reading your comments, thanks,,, it's a bit amazing how i can look around and find a piece like this, posted several years ago,,, and missed!!,,,this is really very nice,,, love the feeling/magic that your musical complexity brings,, what a cool discovery,, thanks,, and happy holidays r
Completed 1 minute to midnight on February 29th 2012. RPM, we are win!
Sandbags took some of Savage's homemade stems and grew this in the closing hours of the RPM Challenge.
tidings of wonder and joy indeed!! your music brings smile to the heart,,,merry Christmas to you and the planet Texas,, used to live there myself once upon a time,,, r
Norm welll, im a wandering around here at AT on Christmas day, between the cooking and baking,, family is on the way over,,, what a cooool piece,, strange as this may sound your beats seem to just melt my holiday stress away!!! very nice ,, merry Christmas,,, r by the way how do you tune a conga? are certain sizes able to cover a different range?
The cupboards, of this old house
Don't close like they used to
And your mother, is just as old now
Wouldn't you say
The lanterns, you hung in your teeth when you were young,
Still light up the room
Yeah it's true,
If anything is true
I wish…
woooow,, full bodied indeed! pretty cool how you put this all together ,, in my younger days,, i sometimes took an oven rack,, and strung hung it with a bit of fishing line.. and took the ends and wrapped them around my fingers then placed my fingers in my ears while others played on the wrack with various objects,, have you ever tried this? it's pretty cool and so is this r
Music by Trevitte Brown. Lyrics by Me. I tried to sing it, but it was too high, so Trev did. An old-fashioned Christmas hymn-style song.
Lyric:
Even though it's christmas
Doesn't seem like Christmas
Money's always tight here round…
Who to believe? relatives, who drop out over time? loved ones, that dissolve in the night? yourself one, without being sure of anything? to a stranger who disappears at the same moment? Perhaps the question itself is not correct.
I went over to Reg's place the other day and he sort of scared me. He was out on his deck, pitching butts and spilling gin that he couldn't afford. He was a mess and had a crazed look in his eyes. I could tell he was ruminating again about…
nicely done,, great arrangement of the various instruments/sounds,, this does indeed have a christmassie feel,,, blends a bit of the traditional tones with a bit of new magic,, well done!
Merengues are fast arrangements with a 2/4 beat, originating from the Dominican Republic. The traditional instrumentation includes a "güira" (guiro), which is a percussion instrument that sounds like a scrapper. The Merengue güira is a cylinder…
Silent Night I love this song so I recorded it along with a bunch of other Christmas favorites. if you like it email me at coachmurphy100@yahoo.com and I will send more merry Christmas

Taceant ad preces motum heri an ..?

The pipes and the little Latin flourishes in the melody reminds my of Ennio Morocone. Only slightly though because it also sounds very unique :)
