Nice one - move over Serge Gainsbourg & Jacques Brel!
I wish I could speak French - I love Francoise Hardy, Michel Polnareff and France Gal, l but I can't understand a bloody word!
Awesome, as always. I think you guys are RPM's hidden gem. Have you ever listened to For Stars? They're one of my favorite (though now defunct) bands. Your sound is less hyper and it reminds me of their best stuff.
Love the Buster Keaton reference!
Anyone read Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr - my daughter lent it to me - teenage Faery novel about addiction - pretty creepy at times.
This is the one act musical version.
I wanted a 'deranged in our neighbourhood' kind of feel to it.
Dang, everyone except Rob (and Laura) (and me) liked the previous version! (Cupid's Own Knife)
Only i did this with the lyrics so maybe one can be a bonus track ...
aargghh ... why didn't i write a *different* song?
It was quite a lucky mindgame in that case, since you ended up with two very worthy tracks as a result...although I'm sure you'd have preferred more convenient timing (like NOT when you're trying to finish up an album with a looming deadline.)

Ok, to set the record straight: I didn't dislike the previous version...sorry if I made it sound like that. I certainly didn't mean to push you to rerecord...
THAT SAID, I much prefer this version. Great stuff.
(Great...I still sound like a complete jerk!)
:)
I unleash my secret weapon!
Guest vocalist Shaka brings the icing to this rather haunted version of the first chapter of Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier!
Another great tune. I'm quite of envious of your natural (sounding) skill embodying the style. Your playing and singing always strikes me as being perfect.
Lyrics
Dies ist meine Lebenarbeit
Es muss geschutzt werden
Meine Leben arbeiten
Meine ganzen Kampfe, Meine Ideen.
There is no life in the Arcades,
Just turtles walking people on chains.
Just a fragment.. but thought it was worth including..
If I were to lose you now
I don't know that I could cope
Please don't leave me now, don't go
You're my only hope.
STILL can't work out how I could have developed this. Really struggled with it, so it shall remain a fragment..
In a dark secluded room
That's where I hide my thoughts of you
And underneath some old gardening shears
I hide my tears in a…
this is one i have to stop tweaking - six versions and i still don't get what i hear in my head
would love some crit for this one as it's doing my head in
thanks
Again i'd love some feedback
I like the feel and the mix
do the lyrics work?
recorded t'night in an hour after trying all day to get the verse lyrics rammed into another tune
A song inspired by a picture of a Dancer...
Hope you Guys like it!
Soooo Much great music on the site!!! Can't wait till the weekend, so I can listen to it! You guys are Freaking Awesome!
Thanks for having me...
Peace

Comments on Rob and Laura's stuff
Too beautiful.
What a great sound - love the harmonies and the guitar solo is swell. I have a feeling you gus are just a little crazy.
Excellent vocal and the perfect accompaniment. Really enjoyed this track.
Nice one - move over Serge Gainsbourg & Jacques Brel! I wish I could speak French - I love Francoise Hardy, Michel Polnareff and France Gal, l but I can't understand a bloody word!
Beautiful - bittersweet.
Again, killer lyrics.
More duets, please (with cursing)!
Awesome... sounds like a song Harry Nilsson would have loved to record. "If there's one thing I know, I'm young and you're old" -wonderful!
Groovy... like crossing Ennio Morricone with Bud Shank!
You're killing me - wonderful vocals/lyrics... like a lo-fi Laura Nyro!
Great - reminiscent of the songs Lou Reed used to write for Mo Tucker to sing (no higher compliment)!
Just beautiful - says so much using so little. Again, great lyrics!

I have fond memories hearing this album at the end of RPM 2010. So glad to see it here. It holds up like gangbusters!
So beautiful. Absolutely love this.
Just listened to the entire album. Great work once again this year.
Another great track! Really itching to hear the rest of the album. I'm guessing you're going to have a busy weekend.
Whooo, party! Great fun, great track.

Great stuff. Really enjoying your RPM album so far...

Another beautiful track. Impressed, here.
Quite nice!
Beautiful. The MYSTERY instrument sounds great!
Very nice!
Got some crazy good sounds going on here.
Nice witty tune. Love the change around the two minute mark. Great stuff overall.
So beautiful.
From the first notes, I was a fan. Beautiful stuff.
No need for tweaking: this is perfect.
Another nice and beautiful tune. Your RPM album sounds like it was designed to be right up my alley, as last year's was.
So beautiful...love the Spanish guitar stylings.
