This track was my attempted submission for Ramen Music #001. I finally got around to uploading it here.
It was made using several instances of the Max for Live instrument "Loop Shifter" that I played in real-time using my Novation Launchpad…
Felt the need to go back to something more sound driven.
I've been learning a lot of new Jazz chords and wondered what they might sound like as pads. I ended up creating a device chain in Ableton Live featuring Alchemy, Omnisphere, and Absynth…
very nice sound space,, the sounds do pan well through my speakers (just got a new set, and this sounds really cool),, i am always impressed by the range for music/sound/feelings found on alonetone,, from my old piano plunking to your spatial symphony,, through the great guitar and vocals,, so much here to enjoy,, anyhow well played

Love all the different sounds and textures. I sure am a sucker for textured and layered sounds in music! Some really cool 'underwater' sounds! Thanks for your recent comment on my newest song 'The End'.

Chilling and charismatic. Love all the different elements that force unsettling images in to my mind. Dark steps down shiney corridors, naked lightbulbs swinging from decaying ceilings... Okay, maybe I don't "love" that, but I'm definitely impressed by it! I think the Brothers Quay will be after you.

An experiment in using [Photosounder](http://photosounder.com/) which is a spectral editing tool.
This track started as a sharp tin can hit which I turned into a droning gong. But I had no idea where to go next.
So I started rifling through…
Well now, this is actually a very old track, made back in March '09 and not that long after I started learning piano.
I was learning a very simple 12-bar blues piece and getting bored with the piano sound I started messing about with the Logic…

thanks re skree. the thing about noise (for me) is it can be so fun! there's a built-in visceral excitement and the challenge is harnessing it into musical contexts.
man, Lao Jia is hypnotizing me!
A late night meditation.
Here's the process:
Started just auditioning sounds in my Live library. When I do this, I play some random chords or two note intervals; often not looking at my hands or the keyboard. That's the spark. Here I started…
Kirk I've really enjoyed going through your ambient stuff (and also your bluesy stuff!) I can decide between this one and Ambient experiment 2. They're both delicious.
Saw an add on TV for something called "Drag Me To Hell". Dunno what it is with horror films, but apparently scary music is on my mind. Thanks for helping exorcise it.
The guitar part, btw, is e-bow plus slide so any tonality is an accident.
Here I attempt to articulate a few distinct feelings of the home, or the affect of cultivating one's own space, or not.
Instrumentation: house keys, pots and pans, long bamboo flute, synth, drum programming, voice(s), and didgeridoo (a real…
Sometimes magic happens. Sometimes it even happens to me.
Open D tuning (low to high D A D G A D). Just a practice session where I had the guts to press record.
No drugs. Just beer with dinner. Maybe they put something in the creme brule…
A moody solo acoustic thing that I came up with playing in a long forgotten tuning. Just got a new Zoom H4N, so this was recorded in my shop sitting at my reedmaking bench may 12 2009
First draft.
Dedicated to my mother on her birthday.
In the outro: Trombone, Horns, Clarinets, Mouthpiece buzz by Andy Hentz (arrsuarez) and organic drum related sounds by Glu.
Took sandbags' [Rytme Shifter 1](http://alonetone.com/sandbags/tracks/rytme-shifter-1) and added my special brand of guitar incompetence.
I bought myself an E-Bow this week and this track was just perfect for playing around. After a day of wankery…
This is a short teaser of my Electro-like remix that I entered into a contest organized by the Dutch radio station SlamFM.
I haven't uploaded the full thing because I don't want to get into copyright issues, so if you like the sound of the beat…
Logic's noise gate and vocal transformer are my new best friends. I really enjoyed messing with them and thought I'd have another go.
I've always quite liked pulsing ambient and it seemed to come naturally. This time we have Rytme playing Kore…

Sister Savage has a little star in this track!
Melody based on 'ah! vous dirai-je, Maman,' by Mozart.. the original composer. I think it's the first and second variation of 12, but that was like 15 years ago that I learned the piece so I have…

Stop motion! Stop motion!
Lovely crackles in this one. Tons of wonderful textures.
Well spotted Kirk, yes.
What an experiment! Is that the "all around my hat" sample?
In my hands Loop Shifter is anything but subtle :)
might be a leeetle to experimental for what they want for Ramen, but I liked it! Bethan singing? Really?
The more I hear this, the more inspired I am to do something really sinister.
Billowy. Those sounds layered quite nicely!
great dream ambient
Yeah man. Crunchy!

loving the sounds and atmosphere. i gotta listen again.
What a blend dude! Great software!
Sounds like the soundtrack to someone being slowly drugged at a carnival. Very effective! Love the underground gong sound. Deliciously dark!
This is sensational! Permission to download, loop and warble on?

Oh I *like* this! Correction... I *lurve* this!
Can't figure out how I didn't favourite this one first time around, it's lovely!

I think that e-bow may have pushed you over the edge :)
This is brilliant! :)
Lovely sound Glu, quite transporting.
I love the sound you've created here.
Sweet sound.
Really enjoyed this track.
A man of many talents! Beautiful playing.
I enjoyed all 5 very much. I'm looking forward to what you do next.
Bring on the Trombones! Love it :)
Lovely atmospheric track.
Very very cool, i love it!
The remix is an awesome track ... I definitely encourage anyone to go listen to the full thing!
Must have made some snafu when I bounced it first time around, should be okay now.
Hrmm... where did my reverb tail get to...
Glu you're very kind but I'm just busking here ;-) Be very glad for you to use anything of mine in your tracks. In fact it would be awesome!
