I set myself the challenge of making a track this evening. I've uploaded it with 2 minutes to spare.
I started out with a wind chime instrument in Kontakt. I sequenced it using the PX-18 sequencer and then fed three different version of it…
I've been learning this Fats Waller style "stride" blues piece since *forever* but I'm finally getting it. Still have the last two bars to learn but here's a rendition of the part I've learned on an underwater marimba. I was accompanied on bells…
Honestly I have no idea where this came from or how.
I was messing with Omnisphere patches and came across a lovely, flutey, breathy sound that put me in mind of the scenes inside the monolith at the end of 2001. I setup a Rytme pattern to…
Another test of the Reichatron on a flute sample. The signal chain for version 1 of the ensemble is now completely worked out and only some details of the beat mode controls for navigating the loop around the sample remain.
This time I employ…

Just messing around with voices and Yottskry. Here I am using it in Live and feeding 3 different vocal clips at a time. It's pretty slow getting going but I think it rewards (for some value of 'reward') listening all the way through.

This begins with an impressionable young man, looking for strange and exotic flowers on the sea bed. He's new to these waters and is taking chances in darker depths. His mind begins to drift as he dares himself deeper...does he begin to see a city in the watery landscape? Mermen - flying about on underwater jetbikes with beautiful sea goddesses, drenched, but holding on to their blue/grey torsos? The lost bell chimes as he catches his breath...will he ever return to the surface?

I just finished reading Citizen Vince by Jess Walter and at one point in it the protagonist meditates a little on hearing people speak without listening... nevermind, my brain is just connecting this track with the musings of that character.

Hey, this is really cool. I'm transported into the ventilation ducts of an alien spaceship listening to the extra-terrestrials gently talking to each other. **added to favourites**

I feel like I'm aloft and tumbling wildly across vistas of 80's virtual reality grids as I'm listening to this like Tron meets a bad case of sunstroke. Nice use of pitch.
A demo track for a new Reaktor instrument I'm building codename: Mimetron.
Loop Guitar 1 is a long, flowing, ambient piece. Mellow with a few moments of grit.
Mimetron is a 3 voice sampler that is driven by incoming audio. It has 3 channels…
Thanks for the nice comments my friends. I've been away (for various reasons) from music for some time and this is one of my first few forays back. Trying to recapture my spirit of adventure!
This is the first track made with my new Reaktor instrument 'Super Scanoid' which might just have well been named '1950s Sci-Fi Soundtrack Generator".

Two guitar tracks, lots of effects and some beer.
For the gear heads, the effects list was:
EHX - Freeze
EHX - Memory Man with Hazarai
TC - Hall of Fame Reverb
Digitech - JamMan Stereo
TC/PGS - Trinity Reverb
xotic - EP booster
NI - Guitar Rig 4
I'm playing with making short animated movies (about 1 minute long at the moment) using ArtMatic and Studio Artist. This is a track composed to go with one of those movies.
It uses an original violin sample from Markus Czwiertnia.
I love the music and tone of this one. The way the opening draws you in, the tension of the strings, and the rising, sucking, synth almost like someone whistling across a wasteland. Yet the strings bring you back! The whole thing is more than the sum of its parts.
After a long summer of doing stuff other than recording it was time to get back on the horse.
Sonically, this isn't much of a departure but I am trying a couple of new things technically.
One it that I spent more time on the drums (an achilles…
Has a feeling of being in between places, like looking out of the window on a long train journey. I think the drums work quite well. Good stuff, welcome back :)
I'm trying to experiment with intentionally combining two different sounds. Since I seem to find this difficult I am starting with using a drone as one of the sounds taking my inspiration from the opening tracks of the Brian Eno & Jah Wobble…
I agree it's a bit shrill in places. This track is actually one of the few times I've thought I shouldn't just publish but should polish. I often struggle with this feeling and - as with this track - lose.

Thanks for the positive thoughts. I'm getting some odd distortions on playing here this morning that I didn't notice in the original (esp. since this piece doesn't play "hot"). They're not supposed to be there. Odd.
Comments on Mr Sandbags's stuff
Incredible ventriloquism. The crispies kept me looking up and all around. Ah, I sound weird...
who?
also excellent... My favourite tracks of yours seem to occupy a space somewhere between the artificial/synthetic and the organic.
Very cool
Very nice; I think this is my favourite track on this album!
Great track cool sounds.
Underwater smokey. The mermaids are throwing their scales at you.
This track is kind of Floydish and kind of Kraftwerkish...and very cool. Thanks for checking out my recent track :)
This is way cool mate great sounds magic. And thanks for your comments mate.
Ear candy par excellence! Captivating stuff!

PFC! Pretty Fuckin' Cool.

Very cool! Amazingly melodic!
Ha! Splendid vocal blurblation. I think I even recognize myself beginning around 1 minute-ish. :D
Sweet!! Its like the mind of a cylon! Yeah I know Im a nerd!!

Cool track.
Thanks for the kind words folks, gave me a lift :)

Thanks Len. Looks like I have a lot of your uploads to catch up on!
Hmmm listening in headphones there's very little movement which creates a disappointingly static impression. Something to work on.
Thanks guys, inebriated waveforms could be said to be the speciality of the house!
This does have a Sci-fi feel to it. I think it fits right in with Voyager-1 leaving our solar system.
Why thank you all, glad you like :)
Think maybe we should do an extended version one day :)
Ah that last comment was from me, didn't notice I wasn't logged in.
Like it.
Great drone, love the percussion, cool track!

Drama is clearly good for you :)
That was really good Steve. One strangeness: the track is listed as being 6:16 long but stops (seemingly naturally) at 5:52.
That was awesome guys.
