The product of yesterdays experiments with Metasynth.
I took a few seconds of a Debussy piano piece and imported them into Metasynths spectrum synth where I turned them into a groove which I then filtered in the Filter room.
I imported this…
Halfway through it did feel like it was the intro to something (cue dry ice, big light show, power chord, let's rock... mebbe!)(I think it's the hi-hat that does this to me, it reminds me of a drummer itching to get going)
But, for me, it does actually bring itself to a nice conclusion. Didn't really feel like "petering out" at this end.
Today I decided I would play with the lovely (and free) [Pocket Blakus](http://blakus.com/pocketblakus-192) solo cello.
At first I tried arpeggiating some chords but this didn't work so well with this cello which has a long, heavy, sound that…
A demo track for a new Reaktor instrument I'm building codename: Mimetron.
Loop Guitar 1 is a long, flowing, ambient piece. Mellow with a few moments of grit.
Mimetron is a 3 voice sampler that is driven by incoming audio. It has 3 channels…

this sounds awesome:
When the input signal from the filter exceeds the gate-on threshold the sampler plays the loop for that channel. When the incoming signal falls below the gate-off level the loop gets released and decays away.
2 minutes into the track and loving it.

Thanks for the nice comments my friends. I've been away (for various reasons) from music for some time and this is one of my first few forays back. Trying to recapture my spirit of adventure!
Back to basics here. recorded with the Yeti mic.
Ramblin' round your city, ramblin' round your town
I never see a friend I know
As I go ramblin' round boys
As I go ramblin' round
My sweetheart and my parents I left in my old hometown…
This started with a couple of samples in a new version of Boite Diabolique where the samplers slide over them at different rates and varying granular density. I recorded some of that as I varied the rates and then brought the recording into Live…
@MMI: Boite Diabolique seems to be quite good at creating those kind of movements. It just seems to naturally fall out of working with it. In fact it might be difficult to avoid them :)

I really like choirs and wanted to add something to this track but originally what I had in mind was a low, held, choral "rumble" to add something organic but ominous.
But I couldn't make that work and ended up with these chopped swells drifting in and out instead. Not the same effect at all.

There is stretching involved but not using Paulstretch. I could never make that thing work for me.
With this piece I liked how the click ticks turned into something like breathing.
Come Tomorrow

I'm like a tumbleweed, got no roots
I'm like a climbing vine, leaves and chutes
Come tomorrow, I might not be around
Come tomorrow
I'm a reflection, you see me in your mirror
A missed connection, so far and yet right here…

Well done sir
All aflame for the Buzzaz: A torch relay of Metaphobias. Got it.
Awesome, can't say I've heard anything quite like it. It really sounds like something unfolding or slowly expanding itself.
Listening again to this piece. Boat-tastic.

Oh yeah, gorgeous cello sound.
Don't think I'll ever understand this way of making music - but it do make some nice sounds. Cool track.
Thanks for the kind words folks, gave me a lift :)
Not completely daft ;) Awesome track, up there with anything I've heard from the "big names".
Sweet dreams

I too love that cello sound. nice track.
Love the cello. Interesting sample and treatment.
Classy piece of experimentation. Musically superb but I wish I understood more of how it was achieved.
Very cool overture.
I quite like it too! You're right in that it sounds like the beginning of something else, but very enjoyable!
EEEEEEeeeeerie!

Quite lovely!

Enjoyed that :)
There's something warm about this despite it being a little disorienting to listen to and, yes, some nice squelchy sounds :)

@MTC: lol... thank you
@bethan: probably i need about 50' clearance all around!
Just got around to listening to this and I think your mojo is intact because it's really lovely.
Big noise, I like it!
Growling and full of foreboding. Feel more like hiding behind the sofa than dancing though :)

Lovely to drift along to.
Fun track.
Great track... how many Marlboro's do you smoke to get that voice!?
Great sound mix, love the guitar in there.
Great song.
I'm really enjoying your tracks. Not just the sound but also the kind of relaxed style that seems to totally unlike my own stuff. Excellent.
Love this one, great sound, raw feel, and it that a banjo?
Enjoying your sound.
Lovely, dreamy, sweet sound.
This feels like the soundtrack to "Buck Rogers in the 21st century" re-imagined by Ronald D. Moore. Kudos.
