Logic's noise gate and vocal transformer are my new best friends. I really enjoyed messing with them and thought I'd have another go.
I've always quite liked pulsing ambient and it seemed to come naturally. This time we have Rytme playing Kore…
This is a very simple composition using two Elysium generators with an oscillator controlling the pulse count of the first and the offset of the second. Elysium is playing Kore 2's "Abendstern" instrument through a multi-compressor effect called…
After yesterdays experiment with noise gates and vocal transformers I thought I'd have another go using Rytme as the source material.
A single Rytme track with multiple playheads is playing into a Logic channel containing Kore playing the Absynth…

I thought I would try a slower piece so Rytme is running at 90BPM and I have introduced a density function that allows me to create sparser pieces.
MIDI from Rytme is going to a single track in Logic hosting Kontakt 3 with the Soniccouture…

Warning: silliness ahead!
alloy (along with this months issue of MusicTech) got me into the creative possibility of gate and pitch shifting effects so I spent a happy morning playing with Logic's noise gate, vocal shifter, and ring shifter…

A second experiment with my new Rytme sequencer. This time Rytme is being fed into Logic to a track containing Kore 2 which is, in turn, hosting Kontakt 3 and the lovely Guzheng from Soniccouture (I bought the instrument before the new year but…

Okay so I enjoyed doing Glubotism1 enough that I thought I'd take a second crack at it. Same tools but took a different approach to how I used Stylus RMX and I introduced some of it's built-in effects on some of the parts. Also I bused RMX and…
So one too many coffee's and I have insomnia, I decided to mess about with my prototype sequencer Rytme and one of the Logic piano presets (Piano Motion).
I came up with this piece (in the key of A Major) which is rather repetitive (a quality…
thanks for listening to the glubotic RPM! This morning, I just gave it my first listen since March and I started getting excited about working on an updated version. it's interesting to see who favors which tracks.

I feel like I'm aloft and tumbling wildly across vistas of 80's virtual reality grids as I'm listening to this like Tron meets a bad case of sunstroke. Nice use of pitch.
A demo track for a new Reaktor instrument I'm building codename: Mimetron.
Loop Guitar 1 is a long, flowing, ambient piece. Mellow with a few moments of grit.
Mimetron is a 3 voice sampler that is driven by incoming audio. It has 3 channels…
Thanks for the nice comments my friends. I've been away (for various reasons) from music for some time and this is one of my first few forays back. Trying to recapture my spirit of adventure!
This is the first track made with my new Reaktor instrument 'Super Scanoid' which might just have well been named '1950s Sci-Fi Soundtrack Generator".

Two guitar tracks, lots of effects and some beer.
For the gear heads, the effects list was:
EHX - Freeze
EHX - Memory Man with Hazarai
TC - Hall of Fame Reverb
Digitech - JamMan Stereo
TC/PGS - Trinity Reverb
xotic - EP booster
NI - Guitar Rig 4
I'm playing with making short animated movies (about 1 minute long at the moment) using ArtMatic and Studio Artist. This is a track composed to go with one of those movies.
It uses an original violin sample from Markus Czwiertnia.
I love the music and tone of this one. The way the opening draws you in, the tension of the strings, and the rising, sucking, synth almost like someone whistling across a wasteland. Yet the strings bring you back! The whole thing is more than the sum of its parts.
After a long summer of doing stuff other than recording it was time to get back on the horse.
Sonically, this isn't much of a departure but I am trying a couple of new things technically.
One it that I spent more time on the drums (an achilles…
Has a feeling of being in between places, like looking out of the window on a long train journey. I think the drums work quite well. Good stuff, welcome back :)
I'm trying to experiment with intentionally combining two different sounds. Since I seem to find this difficult I am starting with using a drone as one of the sounds taking my inspiration from the opening tracks of the Brian Eno & Jah Wobble…
I agree it's a bit shrill in places. This track is actually one of the few times I've thought I shouldn't just publish but should polish. I often struggle with this feeling and - as with this track - lose.

Thanks for the positive thoughts. I'm getting some odd distortions on playing here this morning that I didn't notice in the original (esp. since this piece doesn't play "hot"). They're not supposed to be there. Odd.
Comments on Mr Sandbags's stuff
Hrmm... where did my reverb tail get to...
you really got something good here, I love the sounds and the ambient you created
wow!
Love the sound, and love the way you achieved it!
Laid back feel and interesting sound design elements.
The kind of music that put my mind on somewhere that I feel that visited in person but I don't know where is .......
I love it!
you are a super class sound designer with these experiments. I'd love to incorporate your work in some future mixes.
Yeah this works for me too. Great while I'm working - it's really nice to concentrate to this.
You've hit on something special here.
Damn, this is Funky with a capital F. Had me getting freaky in my chair.
oh yeah! like the beat... Bom chk! Bom chk! --bp bp --bp bp
Another success, nice one.
Your happy morning is a joy to hear! I need to get more effects.
Thanks Sister, best comment evar!
Damn, you make me want to make a short film about beautiful oriental ladies, slighting young but highly over-reaching suitors.
I thought that was a real Kora for a while there. Nicely done!
think I might do another mix of this... keeping the integrity of this track this time.

these Guzheng tracks are awesome. could listen to a series of these while writing/reading... good mood music.

Cool track.
Thanks for the kind words folks, gave me a lift :)

Thanks Len. Looks like I have a lot of your uploads to catch up on!
Hmmm listening in headphones there's very little movement which creates a disappointingly static impression. Something to work on.
Thanks guys, inebriated waveforms could be said to be the speciality of the house!
This does have a Sci-fi feel to it. I think it fits right in with Voyager-1 leaving our solar system.
Why thank you all, glad you like :)
Think maybe we should do an extended version one day :)
Ah that last comment was from me, didn't notice I wasn't logged in.
Like it.
Great drone, love the percussion, cool track!

Drama is clearly good for you :)
That was really good Steve. One strangeness: the track is listed as being 6:16 long but stops (seemingly naturally) at 5:52.
That was awesome guys.
