Thanks for listening, guys!
I just fixed a problem with the kick (some dropouts) and cleaned up the low end a little. I cannot hear very well though, so I'll have to leave the final touches for later.
Y'all came together and created some magic! Great lyrics, vocals, lead guitar break, bass runs, and the mix down/mastering is truly tasteful -- fabulous!

The part up to the chorus sounds like the early Cat Stevens, before you morph into David Essex again. :D
Great stuff, Andy! I'm not sure if the clicks come from the internet connection (or did you want to create a vintage vinyl impression?). But I'll download the track anyway, so I'll soon know. :)
The mix is a little bass heavy, but the song is still great.
Thanks @JMT and @Wildgeas!
I just uploaded a new mix with Andreas Hülsen on drums. He used an electronic kit with the same samples that I had used in my version, so when he sent me the MIDI file, I was able to reproduce the original sound, just with the human feel of a real drummer playing the drums. :)

Angela! Great to hear from you! Unfortunately this site has no private mail feature, so I'm replying here.
I would love to finish this song - with YOUR vocals. Nobody can interpret your lyric as authentically as yourself.
Please let me know if you're up for it!

You'll be hearing about this stuff in the news...
This is a GHOST OF JOHN MURPHY song.

I had this tune in my head for years before I finally sat down and recorded a quick draft of it. I would like to record this with real instruments (acoustic guitar + electric lead guitar).
Anybody interested in helping me?
I wrote this little ditty back in May, did an acoustic demo and then played it to one or two people. I always meant to do something a bit more, er, "expansive" with the thing... So I stuck it in the corner for a bit and forgot about it.

This is one of my favourite songs of Helen Reddy's (although that's already a cover of the Tanya Tucker version)!
Nice, bluesy rendition. :) The vocals are heavily out of sync though - you should fix that in your DAW.

70's rock all down the line. I love the background vocals and all the guitar work.
I think the drums could be more upfront, and I can imagine some percussion too. That would be the icing on the cake.
But anyway, a great song! Very well done.

Excellent songwriting. This works for me!
Love the horns on this... very polished mix, great song. Loved it :-)
Awesome horns.
Now here's a track to enjoy.
I'm a proud bass player!! Call me - We'll do lunch. Love the tune gents. Nice strings.
Cracking track! You brought the sunshine this morning. Love the groove and the shamelessly feel good retro arrangement.
Authentic feel - sunshiney goodness.

Cool guitar playing. Nice one.
Ooo, and this is a goodie
...but I love this one.
I like this one...
Rock on, y'all!
Extraordinarily excellent job all around -- lyrics, vocals, instrumental performance, composition, mix-down and mastering job -- truly fabulous!
Oh dig that guitar playin'
Where do I get the tickets for this show?
Somebody got their groove on. A superb foot tapping gem.
And yet another tasteful, colorful, delicious compilation of groovy sounds! Intriguing lyrics.

Oh, yes, the new version sounds even better. The bass still sticks out a little on some notes, but overall it sounds great.
I love the retro vibe of this (and actually all your other songs, too). Great arrangement, composition, everything!
It's always nice to come back and listen to some of your songs. I just wish there was more (spare) time in a day.
Cool, I never knew you were Bob Dylan's brother, James. ;)

It really does not matter which of your songs I listen to - they are ALL great. Thanks for making them available here at Alonetone!
I love it! It has a nice 60s/70s touch that I like.
FINALLY: The song has been recorded with real guitars and bass! :) http://alonetone.com/stoman/tracks/summer-rain-1

With the video it gets even better. I love your performance! Great to see you "live".
That's perfect, Andy! Oh, you attached a video - I only noticed that now. Guess I'll listen one more time then. :)
Wonderful. Adding more instruments can't make this any better. It's perfect as it stands.

Cool song, very nice.
Hey, this one has a great drive. A perfect country/blues rocker.
Great songwriting, as usual. The mix sounds a bit rough to me, but I love the arrangement.
Gooood one! :) You know how to do that stuff. Great job!
