A slow, scaled down, bluesy song with tremolo guitar, soaring organ and close up vocals.
Don't Ever
(Words & Music by Jana Persson)
I wanna hide no more
And I wanna close the door
Don't ever leave me
Never decieve me
Don't ever…
Next stop, Nashville.
Time to Let Go (Song for Ramona)
(Music by Jana Persson, Lyrics by Jana Persson and Will Gough)
Feel the hurt
Feel the pain
Aching heart
Not again
All the pleas
On my knees
Where's the cure for emotions like…
To conclude the album, here is the title track in a full band setting, featuring the great Rob Wirensjo on a riveting piano and also Hank Johnzon doing a jazzy pedal. The arrangement is a little reminiscent of turn of the 19th century can-can…

Kaleidoscopy Overture

Who will get it if they want?
You will
Who'll prevail as is their wont?
You will
Who will have a look

The Cacaphony of the Kaleidoscopy, and a nod to 70's progressive rock. Brace yourself - this is a long one!

between she who would…

Middle age sux. You wake up and realize you're not the rebel novelty of your self image. You've grown cowardly, protective and conservative. What the hell happened?

Lyrics influenced by a conversation with a friend whose daughter was in a really bad way. Kind of set the mood for large parts of the challenge for me this year.
New version uploaded 12 Dec 2010.
A new one...
I wrote it on 5th February, and managed to record it in less than a month (a head-cold and lack of hearing in one ear slowed the last lap somewhat).
But seeing as the last one took over 8 months, I think I'm already ahead for…
This is really good stuff. Songwriting firmly placed in late 70's art rock/pop, which is a very good place to be, if you ask me. Contemporary, skilled production makes for a tasty sound palette and a very enjoyable listening experience. Bravo!
This was a write it and record it in one session song challenge that my songwriting friends and I came up with this week. Lions and Lambs was started thinking of spring, but it turned into a song about relationships... as they often do.
Greg…
Update: Paul took the first version and made it even better. So impressed with his talents. Thanks everyone for your kind words on the original. I know you'll like this version even more!
I was listening to some of Paul Lennon's great…
MONOLOGUE
I found a hole, it's in the wall
And reaching up, I crawled inside
And to the stars I gave a call
To grant a better place to hide
I cannot leave the hole I found
The chapel for my dark despair
I do not seek to hang around…
Fine lyrics! Interesting mixing technique to have the lead vocals panned to the far right in some parts and then have the overdubbing add a contrasting stereo effect by being panned to the far left! I might steal that some time! ;)
Jim Goodin and my MrGold & MrMudd project, album for the RPM Challenge, Neutrino's Tale.
Recorded free jam entirely over the internet using ninjam, Brooklyn to Fort Worth.
These jam numbers are great! Enjoyed them immensly. But I don't know why Alonetone figures they'll be 2 hrs long each? Are you using some exotic sample rate or other? Anyway, surely a pleasurable listen! Great thing to jam on the interweb! Thank you!
Ending on a lighter note, an upbeat blues, nice! You should play more harminica! I really like the new album, Colin. Solid work, and it comes through really well. Sounds are well thought out and defined. Top notch, be proud!
Strong finish to a great album. Amazing songwriting coupled with true talent to bring the musical vision alive. Even the production is remarkably well handled. Thanks for a great listen!
Oh yes! So many good things about this one. From the intro melody through to the comeback chorus at the end it's so sweet and succulent it keeps pulling me back again for another listen. One of the absolute highlights of RPM 2013, must be.
Arrangement by Jana Persson (Strummindude)
Accompanying vocals by Andrea Szirbik

Holding down the borders

I'm on 13 seconds of track 1 - this album will be classy, because it's that strummin' dude and he always is.
A polished collection of compositions in this RPM effort :)
a Beautiful song beautifully done...
I tighten the belt, hear to the end and no fell. On the contrary, I liked it. Loud is necessary, though.
ruggigt bra låt!
Mycket imponerad av detta spår! Riktigt professionellt! O jag sjöng med i andra refrängen =).

Fat finger typo on the title? ;) Again, a solid groove, a little hint of steppenwolf.
Oh - reached the solo part... Riveting!
Excellent early Floyd type groove and vocal arrangements.
Big sounding. Nice overdrive on the voice track!
Ah - you really know how to spin a ballad! Great song.
Nice flow and chorus!
Really nice vocals on this one! Too!
Meaty and full of heart! Kidney pie? ;)
Love the energy and the late 60's prog groove! Well done!
