you tell me what you want
you tell what you need
i cant give you nothing honey
but this pretty little seed
where has the sun gone
and is it gone forever
will it come back someday
should we just give it some time
i ask you what…
when i was 18 i took in a runaway
she crawled into my bed on the 7th day
i played her music and i cooked her food
i did everything i thought i should
i let her sleep late and i paid her way
then her dad showed up one day
well she had grown…
when i was 18 i took in a runaway
she crawled into my bed on the 7th day
i played her music and i cooked her food
i did everything i thought i should
i let her sleep late and i paid her way
then her dad showed up one day
well she had grown…
you are like the rain that falls with the snow
or is it the other way around
i dont know
all i know is i love you
and cant get above you
it is driving with no place to go
the muscle and the bone i find
that keeps my heart in line
just…
you are like the rain that falls with the snow
or is it the other way around
i dont know
all i know is i love you
and cant get above you
it is driving with no place to go
the muscle and the bone i find
that keeps my heart in line
just…
i saw the curtains changing color
i watched the sun room come alive
i have been sitting in this rocker
wondering when you might arrive
i am hoping for redemption
cant stand the way i feel
i know it is only passing through me
rivers flood…
thanks
yes, this were recorded for the rpm challenge. i only drew on my note books for two songs and just for inspiration. i had already meet the 35 minutes of music requerment for the project but felt the subject of my friends death last february (shadow of the son) needed to be adressed. what a great experience (rpm)

lyrics:
The silence sometimes
is all you have to say and I believe it, and you
and everything surrounding the skin beneath your eyes
Time's without a shield or an attack against the sight
of a lifetime that was burning you by
And I may…
Trying out a Carol Kaye-inspired bassline here (not completely succesfull; gotta work on my timing some more) and again didn't manage to come up with lyrics. Espresso Martini is a really nice cocktail with coffee you can get at the club/bar where…
i like where this takes me and i would love to know what you are using to generate the sound scape. i need to get some software with the kinds of controls that generate these tones

reminds me of the "the weakerthans". i really like the guitar tones . seeing how you can make changes, i would love to see and have been advocating for, a tab for lyrics. it can be a much richer experience if you can read along and not miss the music because you are straining to understand the story or message. i have been putting my words under the "ABOUT " tab but it isnt obvious to the listener. love your style and voice.

Another song for the RPM 2009 Challenge. This is sort of an interlude that reminds me of Penguin Cafe Orchestra but with a sort of industrial edge. Vocoder is featured.
The whole piece was 24 minutes long. It's a whole bunch of short poems that I wrote back in 1976, read one after the other, under which I added ambient sounds, playing some harmonica and banjo and using samples and effects of various types, synths…
i like this side of you. a great idea for the challenge. my first child was born in 1976. we lived in a house truck on the beach in ventura california. sounds as though you were near the water as well, 3000 miles away

A song about the lost art of the mix-tape and knowing that someone is trouble but doing it anyway...
Compilation Tapes:
Did I mention that I think that you’re a real fine dancer and I like the way you dress?
I’ve known a number of girls…
The title just popped into my head unannounced one day and I had to try to work from that. About a girl with a broken radio and the repairman who would do anything to find her a new one and win her love...
It certainly appears broken, Minerva…
*Dark modern electronic guitar rock*
You can hear it just below the blowing wind
Feel it in the nerves beneath your skin
Catch a glimpse as you drift away at night
But you can’t decode the meaning inside
Distant shrieking sets your teeth…
