Margo's Duodene
I read about the Duodene in Doty’s book and wanted to try it. I took the opportunity of Margo’s scala formatted duodene on the nonoctave forum to toss it into fractal tune smithy and improvise with the tuning.
I hope you don’t find this too amateurish to listen to. I like the possibilities here.
What I did:
-
The tuning was meant for a tonic of C - but I used a tonic of E and thus this is sort of phrygian mode
-
The “sort of” comes from this scale that seemed natural
e,f,g, b, c, d, e, f, g, a, b flat, c and then flat the d and b on the way down
-
the two b’s are almost identical
-
Used a secondary dominate phrygian cadence
