I purchased a new M-Audio midi keyboard during RPM. The software alone was worth the $100.
There was no chance I was wasting any time during RPM with a learning process.
Today, I got the opportunity to install the software and plug it in. This…
Hi folks - Uncle Paul is back at it after a 4 month hiatus from music.

Someone's opened my ears (not sure who, but it's probably someone on here) - I started listening to this the other day and thought "yeah, it's ok" and stopped it after 30 seconds to look for something else.
I love the title though, so I just gave it another go... well, someone's opened my ears since then! Like it a lot :-)
The first of 4 tunes coming your way with
the spotlight on my friend "Michael Thomas of Cave Street"
http://alonetone.com/cavestreet
This one is my favorite and chills me every time I hear it.
It never, ever, gets old.
Until Then (Shine…
Missed this originally. Love it.
I'm a sucker for songs with the word "shine" in anyway (I've used it several times over the years, myself). I just LOVE the word and the concept of "shine" when it's applied to humans - seems to be a really powerful trigger. I would use it in every song I write if I could!!! (Would kind of waste it's power though lol)
And this one doesn't waste it... a really beautiful song and performance. Faved.
The wonderful MN songwriters helped take a bite out of the January cold on Tuesday night this week and added some amazing depth to Singing in the Silence - We were as usual, recording on a little TASCAM around my coffee table. We had lots of…
Last of the archives for now. A set of reels from the Last Nights Fun album. I did pipes, whistle and guitar on the last tune in the set. There's a live version of this up here too. This is the studio cut
Like A Wave
--
If you make yourself a mule
someone's gonna ride you
this I know
Like a breeze moves through the air
or a wave upon the water
is how I go
When you can freely give
of all that you can hold
you can know no more…
...same for orbiting shuttle as in falling elevator; always accelerating towards earth to as if falling!!! Therefore, you fall at the same rate as shuttle, objects float relative to shuttle, can’t tell which way is up.

Bad Münder Diaries
Track 5 from my RPMX album Cold Ground Was My Bed
Inspired by Salvador Dali. Mostly.
Gravity failing
Cats float flailing
Furniture in midair
Salvador smiling
Rainbows crying
Clocks melting everywhere
Pachyderms stilted
Lovers…
I predict that this will be one of the more popular tracks of the album, because the whole thing took about 45 minutes to create. It was COLD that day!!
Lyrics (approximate)
Doncha stand too close or you'll burn your toes
move your face…
It's tough to go wrong with a song like this. Not only is it wholly unoriginal, but I think I am exactly ripping someone off. I can't place the exact song, though.

Time to introduce myself as the fount of creation

This one went through many iterations before turning into what you hear. A key breakthrough came when I stumbled upon that keyboard part for the verses. That opened the whole thing up.
There is no reverb on any vox parts in this one. I loved how I was able to get the tone of the voices to have that mid-60s sound. This was aided by the fact I am running through an emulation of the Abbey Road mixing desk. ;)
Morning Glow
End of the line
Ahead of me just loneliness
Scanning the horizon - only emptiness
Losing heart for a while
As the twilight’s rolling in
Getting caught between the darkness and despair
Used to never fail
Used to find a…
When your world is destroyed as you know it, the ability to overcome and renew yourself is a very steep ascent. It may take years, and this song is about that struggle to 'let it go'
Defiance, self-doubt, hubris, failure, choosing...It's all here to hear.
The title is a nod to my love of a certain guitar player and singer from a late 60's act; who's solo records were even better. The vibrato guitar is inspired by him…
It is easy to mock and ridicule, but much harder to learn and understand. Overcoming our own pig-headedness may be our biggest personal challenge. This song thinks about that. I also was rather happy with how my Telecaster sounds in the rhythm…

I would love to record/mix/master you folks.
Your a bad ass Kirk Lynch. Much love Amigo!
Good to hear from you ole' buddy. Interesting sounds man.
"Большо́му кораблю́ -- большо́е пла́вание." I do hope that's correct. A great ship needs deep waters.
I do like this tune. Had to listen again.
Damn.
@ Cave St. I just found him. He does remind me of me. :) Lovin' this original style of harp playin'. Harmonicas and synths - yeah!
Great synths.
Influence is not ripping off :)
One of the best tunes on this here website. A must listen.
Good call. The keys made the song. The reverse(guitar?)is cool too. Groove-a-licious.
Emulating a mixer? That's interesting. I need to know more. It works for sure.
Damn dude - kick ass album so far. Great effort all the way around. I feel like a groupie.
Whew! It don't get much better than that. Nice track Jana.
