Instrumentation Demonstration to try applying the Gunslinger sound to a more bluesy progression.
Bass is a bass, guitar is a guitar. The drums are a digital pad kit connected to an Alesis trigger I/O to make them MIDI capable.
Generally, I cut the tom toms and paste them to a different track so I can apply EQ to them individually. Thanks J.R.R. for that techno bit.
The horns are a MIDI patch. about 4 trumpet tracks and a sax track.
Piano and synth are MIDI as well played via Casio CTK 800.

I added 3 solos along the way starting with the drums(by themselves), then G major harp, followed by a fuzzed guitar as outro.

A quote from Norm…..“MORE DRUM SOLOS!!”
Here’s mine :)

Very cool Pardner! Now where's my horse and six shooters? Never mind- I'd just get thrown off the horse and shoot myself in the foot

Very cinematic and evocative of the great Western Themes.....I do like the harp after the drum solo...midi is pretty convincing .

You certainly know how to give the feel of the wide open spaces Paul. I like the Mex influence and the harmonica especially.

I STILL haven't utilized midi yet. When I do, hope it comes out half as good as this. Norm is an awesome percusionist. I was checking out his work the other day..that's the dude from the blue ridge mountains right?

I dig the guitar solo. I was wishing it didn't end so abruptly.
