did a remix of latest B-52s (ex B-52's) song "Funplex". i admit i didn't really take the time to polish this, so it might have some flaws here and there, but it was fun to do and after all, is this not what matters most? :)

@ Norm: honestly so do i. i was a bit disappointed by their EP, actually.
and you might wanna surf around, there have been made some seriously good remixes, highly creative..

(reply) you what is strange? I rercorded the song a while back, and kept saying, "i like it, but it needs an intro" so i made the intro last night and put it on there...the more i listen to it, i might split them back up....good call..sweet song to by the way
This is so beautiful - how wonderful, as I write this, at about four minutes, that it's not yet even half done. But I like long tracks. ;)
Some very interesting harmonic movement in this piece, and the timing of each shift and change is ... just ... exquisite ...
thanks for the listens, i know 10:30 is little over the usual playtime, compared to most productions.
@Neb: it's part of a bigger project, in collaboration with other artists, such as C.Vaisvil; and it is about telling stories, or more about having a story-telling approach of some science explorations and progress
@Sisters: nope, all synths, LFOs and VCOs :)(actually, a few Discovery & Zebralette)
Being as I am in something of a musical trough of despair (it's not as much fun as it sounds) right now I thought I'd try messing with my TMA-2 Reaktor instrument and try and coax some better results from it.
From a promising beginning TMA…
well, highly experimental, no doubt about that; and it does carry some underlaying structure. not quite steady though, but it is there, yes. - and overall, it has a very interesting contemporary flavor..
This is a 3/16 Bembe on tuned congas, played with mallets. I've arranged it (at the very kind suggestion of Vaisvil & ReefWalker) in a verse/chorus/bridge/capo fashion to get away from a straight pattern - I think this sort of arrangement…
If you have the fever and the only cure is more tambourine, here it is.
MORE TAMBOURINE SOLOS!! (But you should probably wait until you have the house to yourself...)
Just another time traveling love song from your ole Uncle Paul.
Mostly MIDI synths and some analog bass and screaming Ibanez.
Drum loops too. I was going to drum it, but these two loops really kinda drive it along.
Enjoy.....

This is one stereo track of 6 conga drums tuned, by ear, to roughly a chromatic scale (I don't know which one - perhaps I've gone micro-tonal!) coupled with a single track of ad-lib quinto (the high drum) and a "shuffle" groove on trap-set…
There is a video for this below
Its all a bit cliche I know - but its what I wanted to do. All of the video footage was taken by me in an undisclosed location somewhere. This is a microtonal piano improvisation that uses Lucy tuning 0b6s meantone…
I had a bit of a dry spell with writing new music but today I have decided to break it.
This is loosely based on another song of mine, titled Swell.
I hope you enjoy this.
Thanks to Colin for writing, performing and producing this song, and for letting me mod it. I think it's a great tune, benefits from an uptempoing. This is Hot Wheels Spaulding reimagining Colin's song 'The View'
After writing this song about our newly adopted dog, I asked Kavin if he like to play some slide guitar, knowing that he would come up with something terrific... I just had no idea how terrific.

You're just kidding yourself if you thought I could resist the chance to add a bit of percussion to this wonderful song by Osckilo & Launched. I used Paiste Sound Discs to create a 3vs.4 polyrhythm against the delightful underlying 4/4 Spanish…
Not terribly odd except for how I did it with Fretless gutiar.
I recently bought a used Fender Squier for $60, pulled the frets with pliers, filled the cuts with plastic wood, sanded, and jammed. Took about 2 hours to make the guitar fretless…
all it"s "missing" is the brass section eh! :p
so you managed to microtune it with couple hours, nice job! - oh and is there any genre you're not versed into?
For this Mother's Day week, a conga improvisation dedicated to Saint Monica and all the other mothers who surreptitiously provide for and incessantly pray for their children. Thanks Mom!
** this could really use a tasty melody to go with…
Comments on Alister Flint's stuff
Smoooth and loungey! Excellent percussion work (using just the first half of Son clave @ half time = nice effect)
Magnificent piece of work Alister. Classy and Sassy.
:)
This isn't playing for me. :-( Will try again later.
Good one.
love the deep percussion and sexy tune!
Pretty fun track!
This is cool. I only had the first two albums, which I wore out. Not fond of the post Ricky stuff. Maybe it's time to check 'em out again.
interesting, i enjoyed this

Great mix nice work.
Rockin!!
The B52's have had some classics, but I believe I like your remix better than their release.

very stirring intro. I like the description too. It's like a story told with music that pulls you in.

this is africa and it takes you right at the hear of it! - and still one my faves..
no need even for a derbekkeh, it's already in your sound, and with some great rolls! really good vibe!
dark, mysterious and witchy! love this..
played your congas like a bass, eh! i think it works pretty well, and a sweet java flavor to it (not the indonesian folk)..
considering it still is in wip stage, this rocks!! poor girl, i feel sorry for her..
so peaceful and relaxing, thank you..
this piece is just getting better and better, each time i listen - must have been quite an interesting talk you had with the big guy..
oceans indeed.. very relaxing..
vocal has a nice Kiedis feel - and i like how you remod'd it!
pretty good sound manipulation, with an interesting tribal pattern underlaying..
beautiful song. and lucky Bandit: he who writes such music can't be a bad man..
certainly not for the average audience but excellent experimental soundscape indeed..
that lexicon added a 3rd dimension to the track! magical piece..

mi gusto mucho mucho! :)
wow, brilliant! sounds like 4 movements-in-one, and the progression is so well balanced and arranged, it's almost "invisible" - bravo!
thank you guys! @Norm: yep, la clava indeed. and i got the idea from your grooves, actually :)
wicked, twisted and totally hectic: excellent!
