Brilliant album overall. Solid song structures, tremendous bass lines and grunge guitar work. Vocals are a little deeper in the mix but to good effect, recalls a bit of early Soundgarden. Big thumbs up.

Loved the whole album. If comparisons need to drawn, sounds like The Afghan Whigs with Clutch like heavy moments, and some grunge melodies thrown in good measure. Regardless, Nice work!

I'm on track 4, and the uniform lyrics are really starting to give me the feeling that I'm following the heroine through several days, and although she's experiencing the same bittersweet sentiments, the affect they have on her is different each time. This track, for example, is more playful than the others, though it carries the same meaning. Very clever idea, Brent. It completely works. Gorgeous chorus melody.

It’s name is sadly the same as me, without me
It cannot follow through doorways, the same way
Just saw the rainbow fall over
It’s game remembers…
So Far to Get
Fire on the look-out
he's got me shakin'
Watch me blow it now.
Fire on the lookout,
It's got me changing
what, me worry now?
Fire on the look-out
It's got me shakin'
what me worry now?
watch me blow it now.

My 2009 Christmas Challenge song. It's rough around the edges and I didn't have a drumset, so fake drums, but all in all, not a bad little diddy. enjoy!
my entry into the 2008 Sidedown Christmas challenge.
I tried the original Mel Torme chords and version and it just didn't fit for me, so i came up with my own chords and arrangement.
this was done around the same time as g=gone so it's a…

just a star on a sheep on the side of a car
and the picture in your hand from a distant land
with a story can't believe this is happening to me
another mediocre man trapped in a master plan
it's really not the star but the dream inside…
i love how people listen to the first song of an album and then move on. this site is great for telling you exactly who is listening to your stuff and to what. too bad those people i sent links to this CD stopped at the first song. too bad they missed the juicy bits in 2-9.
A blatant attempt at exploiting the deep well of The Jesus and Mary Chain/Pixies/Raveonettes/House of Love. A lovingly loud, shiny and guitar-laden paean to those great bands.
the first new song written for the RPM challenge, i love the guitar part, but the words were last minute. some people get tired of my anti-religion diatribe. oh well
Judge me, I want everyone all up in here
cast your stones for slandering…
this is 4 bass tracks and drums
the 3rd song i wrote about my wife. maybe someday the second song will show up somewhere.

this song is 6 bass parts on top of drum loops. each part is completely seperate mix and effect. that synth sound in the chorus is actually me singing falsetto with muey effects on it.
a song from a previous band (kill.pop.), i took the metal out of it and made it more dreamy. this is actually the 3rd version of this song that i've played.

Excellent song and you have done a great cover. Tremendous music too.
It's a great number, this. I like both versions, but this has a little more Sisters of Mercy about it.
Nice work. Great cover and killer twist with the new wave tones.
BIG sound! ballsy tune.
You out-did me on the new wave vibe. Awesome job!
Super cool cover, Brent!
We like it very much, thank you.
Avant-punk? Very cool, the beautifully dissonant guitars really contribute to the hopelessness she might feel at times. This is a awesome track!

Just my cup of tea. Subtle chord work, gentle layers of sound and music, building up with drum backing. Magic! (Don)
I dig it. Great tones and engineering in general.

liking it more...and more...and more...
Beautiful close to this spell-binding album - the lyrics are beyond beautiful - the album is a masterpiece.
Wonderful oceanic sounds...
Supercool riffage! Love the grungey arrangement.

Superb!

is this really heavy metal? Tess made me take the heavy bits out :)
i love it, how do you get the vocal effect?

you should put this album up on your list, double exposure.
i was going for tom waits, maybe a little too much?
oh my, this is beautiful. nicely done!
maybe we should do a double album, my versions VS your versions
your demo's are way more impressive than mine :(
someday we need to collaborate. I'll let you sing.
god i love this one. someday you're gonna have to teach me how to sound this good.
well they're sampled loops from Garageband. It's probably time I either buy my own drumset or get some different loops.
I'm working on a new holiday song, should be done soon!

spectacular!
wow, this sounds a lot like Jesus and Mary Chain i love it.
your music makes me want to try harder.
are those loops? how in the world?
i had this guitar part bouncing around for a couple months, unfortunately i was never quite happy with the song itself, one of the parels of RPM.

and that's my kid singing at the end of the song, which is pretty creepy.
