Toward You
-
With each new day I'll seek a way
To get as close as I may
Toward you
It's my destiny to set you free
Until then I can only see
Toward you
Throughout the night under the light
Of the moon I drive
Toward you
Through rain and snow…
Break my Stride
-
Break my stride break my stride
Ain't nothin' gonna break my stride
When I feel this way
There's only one thing to do
Nothin' gonna break my stride
Gonna walk down the road
til I get back to you
Nothin' gonna break my stride…
Honest Man
-
I went down to the riverside
Way on down where the water's deep and wide
I stripped right down to my naked skin
I jumped in the river and hoped I'd learn to swim
Cause I knew the river would take me
or I'd learn
And whether I live…
Honest Man
-
I went down to the riverside
Way on down where the water's deep and wide
I stripped right down to my naked skin
I jumped in the river and hoped I'd learn to swim
Cause I knew the river would take me
or I'd learn

January Town
-
With the snow coming down
in this January town
how could I not think of you
Oh the words that you said
still echo in my head:
When one dies one is born anew
In the parking lot of the graveyard
a stranger walked up to me
he said…
Movin' On
-
Whatever thoughts we had
of any home we once had known
were cast off way back down the road
we're movin'on
I know we've gone too far
to ever see somethin' that's new
but that's a price I'll pay
to stay this close to you
There may…

this was a much needed and very enjoyable break from listening\mixing. you should be very proud of your effort. some of the best stuff i have heard so far.
Dream Song
-
Was I dreaming in my bed
Visions of the past
Rollin' through my head
Or was I driving in my car
Rain fallin' down
I couldn't see very far
Strange animals in shadows by the road
I knew a secret
But I forget everything I'm told…
Heaven Comes

Sometimes you have everything
Sometimes you have none
Sometimes you are separate
Sometimes you are one
In the midst of all your suffering
Sometimes Heaven Comes
Here's something for those bitter times
Here's something…
Matter of Time
-
Yeah we're up on our feet
People out in the street
And we're out to put heat on you
Your situation is dire
Your gonna burn in your fire
Til you find your empire's through
Ooh just a matter of time til you find
That…

Old Paint Ver.II
Continued from Old Paint Version I............
So, I plugged in the cat eater, hit distort and it took on a whole new feel.
I added bass(finger is tore up now), more drums, and low level fuzzed up leads.
The ghost…
Wow, this is one of my all-time favorites of all your stuff I've ever heard, and that's really saying something! Songs like this (which might never have been created otherwise) are just one of the many reasons I love RPM...
Well, song 10 finally. A bit on the heavy side, some odd FX, strange vox, an Ibanez, The ever present harmonica, and some help from Illegal Alien Autopsy.
This was the first song I tracked for RPM. But, since my pen has run out of ink this month…
Reminds me of Deep Purple, one of my all-time favorite bands!
I don't know how to insert the little headbangin' emoticon here, but do know that I am throwin' the devil horns and rockin' out!
I guess I knew this would happen. Talk about creating one's own reality Sheeeeesh. End of the month and my pen has been re-fueled and I added some vox to this one, plus some lead guitar, and a bit of synth strings. I also took a shot at some…
What a fun fourth of July this was... and I love the background sound of fireworks in this! Really brings it back to me.
This live track was recorded by my dearly departed friend, Hippie Mark. He was far and away our number one fan & I miss him more than words can say. ~ Michael
What we are is mostly water
On our way back to the sea
I have made this trip so many times
I'm just glad you're here with me
Fall alone or fall together
Either way we will be one
You and me, we will reach the sea
And have need for names no more…

> Great song altogether. Fabulous guitar and vocals!
Again, it's all props to my buddy Chris. His playing, arranging, and singing never failed to blow me away... He's one of a kind, and I sure miss hanging with him - and always miss him especially when I sit down to write or record a song.

Thanks man! One of the few positive songs on that record... I really liked that one. May need to revive it! ~ Michael

Chris Mitchell, man. I can never give that dude enough props. He's just a killer guitar player, what else can I say?

Thanks, Alex! What a great compliment coming from such a talented musician as yourself! And yes, of course.... er, how far down the line? :-)

Oh, I'm a believer. I can't count the times I've seen music transcend the boundaries of time and space in just such a manner! :-)
Cheers!
Excellent! Reminds me of the mood of Neil Young's Dead Man soundtrack, but like Bethan said, more of an oriental feel... It conjured up an image in my mind of futuristic Ninjurais silently stealing into an ancient abandoned city from the cover of the encroaching jungle.
Funny story about the ending: my MacBook froze up while recording but I decided to keep hitting keys, and when it recovered I had that sparkly sound. It's probably my favourite thing I've ever accidentally created.
Comments on Cave Street's stuff
loving your vocal on this ......
I had to stop and start this one I thought the house alarm had gone off....
Top quality post. Ticks all the boxes for me and then some.
rockin tune had to play some piano with it
Great song...all the songs on the new album are wonderful!
...a time a place and a girl. Nice song. Cool imagery...."snow has hushed the sound..." And the graveyard reference.
The vibe this song creates is quite indescribable. Johnny Cash style vox with a spacey guitar and backbeat. I like it.
Big smiles here man :) This is greatness. I'm with Mars - Gospel harmony would be the addition to bring this to a new level.
Whoa! A bit different for Cave Street. I'm liking the lower register vox.
I have way to many Cave Street favorites. The list is long indeed. This one takes the cake bro. Honestly :) Play it loud....
There are no storytellers of your caliber left on this planet. IMHO :)
I love it!
Great lyrics, and nice song writing!
