Haha! Pwnd by the phone company once again. I feel your pain. The chain saw solution caught me by surprise, but sounded effective.
It would probably be a very bad idea for you to ever collaborate with ReefWalker about this topic... he has a history of many phone problems as well.

Somebody should create an album of songs dealing with phone problems on AT - a recurring theme!
This is a rough mix of a track I did with the one & only Norm Harris. I've got some vocals in mind, but it may take some time to put it together, so meanwhile here's the instrumental version. Big thanks & major props to Norm…
In the morning, when we awoke, there was nothing. There were no ashes from the fires of the previous evening. The time for decisions was past. "Yes" was the answer to all questions; and none was the knowledge retained. Wisdom laughs at such folly…
you say i got no reason
to be here knockin' on your door
i guess ya had no reason
to think you might see me anymore
hey I got some news for you
yes i do
y'know i seen a lot
of different things
through these two eyes
i've heard…

Yes, RW's sitar works very well here. Nice! I confess that I don't know what a tenpura is, but then I thought a hurdy-gurdy had something to do with a busking monkey... now I realize its a wheel fiddle, which I've never come close to seeing or hearing.
I still want one of those things with the monkey hitting folks up for change in his little cup, whatever it's called.

yes! this is great - the two of you rock together - and Hurdy Gurdy!! Awesome!! If I may be so bold perhaps a recorder or flute - or best a shawm melody would work.

I'm at work & listening to this now... still not quite satisfied with the intonation of the hurdy-gurdy (I had to pitch shift the sample I found). Reefwalker has done an excellent remix which I will probably upload this evening provided he gives his permission.

This is a piece in a microtonal tuning - but sounds very much like pentatonic in "normal" 12 equal tuning to my ears. But I work in microtonal tunings all the time and may be biased.
How "in tune" does this sound to you?
I'm digging the peaks & valleys in this one, it really has an epic feel for a four minute piece... I like the ending, but I must admit I half expected you to add "...or did they?" at the last second!
She hangs a little garden
so everyone can fit in her yard
when it's time to take tea
fills it up when they're walking about
they really knew how to twist and shout
and they're always going back that way again

This is a solid little tune, catchy as can be with several unexpected twists. Would love to be able to read along with all of the lyrics - please post 'em!
Started out be an innocent little jazzy study in quartal harmony, but the DL4 was still in my signal path and things went downhill from there! Another done with my beloved '58 Stratotone
No im not happy and no im not sad, no im not good but i know im not bad. No i wont go there, but no i wont stay, no im not straight but no im not gay, no need to tell me i know im not right, no happy endings and no end in sight. I got no way of…

This is a “cross-over” pattern. Cross-over patterns are a type of enharmonic polymeter, where 2 rhythms with different numbers of beats/measure are played at the same tempo: the measures do not line up each time. These rhythms have measures…

this is based on an improve from back in jan 75, then guitarist - chris layed this riff out and i never forgot it. it was the first time i was in a band as a bassist. the rest of the riffs are mine and everything else disastrous done in this song…
Wow, psychedelic! I dig the stereo vocals, but I'd really like to hear all the vocals panned dead center... very cool track reminiscent of B.O.C. *Rock On!*
This is a remix of an improvised track I did for our first RPM album. For this new mix, I got rid of the vocals & added a most excellent electric guitar part by our good friend, Chris Mitchell. He listened to the track just once and proceeded…
Nice piece! I really like the tension the guitar brings in at about 2 minutes... and again at about 3 1/2 min. Also cool how you break it all down at the end.
The first of 4 tunes coming your way with
the spotlight on my friend "Michael Thomas of Cave Street"

It never, ever, gets old.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the nice comments, and thanks again to my friend Paul for giving me such great tunes to work with! It looks like I'll soon have internet & *my very own* computer at home again soon & will be able to get back to listening to all you fine & creative musicians! I have been missing it greatly!!
Comments on Cave Street's stuff

That's something different for you. Very cool track man!
Like it.
A little strange guys... strangely compelling. ;)
love the drone
Nice percussion!
reminds me of "nothing" off Bill Laswells city of light.... which is a good thing
Cool! Great guitar tones!
BEAUTIFUL TRACK
It certainly was fortunate for a lot of us the day Norm joined us. Now we are all unashamedly using him! This is a great track.
*laughing so hard it's hard to type @norm's comment*....That is one crazy picture you got on your profile bud. Is that your dog?

nice very nice deep forest mellow inside the cave there..
Real nice folksy tune. It has a bit of CSNY in it. I'm waitin' on the vox man. Saved, Fav'ed and turned to wav.
some Robert Plant-Zepplin IV style vox would be Killer!

Sounding good over here! No, really great!
Even better now!
Had to listen again - love the fresh folky feel! Can't wait to hear your sublime vox in this potion!

This one had the wife giggling appropriately as it went on... :-D
I hear bits where it's obviously not the "standard" tuning we've been trained to hear as "right" but this piece is quite beautiful to my ears!

Have I told you lately that I love this little piece of spontaneous composition?
excellent tune! love the subtleties of the arrangement, backing vox, acoustic lead guitar, nicely done!
Diggin it! Poi Dog Pondering meets Bob Dylan then they both get schooled by Alex Moody! :-)
excellent
A great vocal and great harp on this oh so timely recording. Thank you my friend for sharing this very important music!
... I'm digging into this space you have carved in time...
Love It!!!
nice one

most excellent!
Chris, I love your stuff. It's most elevating, to say the very least. Thank you.
Cheers, Jarvoid!
I dig this riff and the different synth textures. I haven't heard all your stuff yet, but this one is my favorite so far!
nice one!
