I recorded a conversation with a friend of a friend and then did a whole lot of cutting & pasting. The rest of the song is made up of tracks I stacked up one at a time.... this one is about 5 years old.
I listened to a bunch of your stuff yesterday when I was tiling my bathroom. I didn't have time to comment then. This is a great song (as were many of them, if not all, but I was fading in and out of listening range so, I'm sure I missed some, just being honest and accountable). I wrote these words for a different WildGeas track some time ago -- probably at least a couple years ago by now. As is so often the case, I was too slow in producing and someone else had already taken the track and run with it. Well, these lyrics were just sitting unused in a pile of other less finished scraps that I happened to be digging through recently when I remembered Paul's request for lyrics for this year's RPM. I'm so glad they finally got used! You guys took them out of the context they were written for and put a nice new spin on 'em. You two make a really great team and I must say I'm proud to have been allowed to contribute a small part. Lord knows you don't need another lyricist when you've got REG on the job!! :-)

wow Johnny, somewhere around two minutes in, this just comes together beautifully. Just gorgeous! I can imagine a harpsichord voice working well with this one.
