Inspired by Steve Krell who wrote the first verse and chorus. Colleen Dillon wrote the second verse and Greg Connor, the third. Authentic Native American War Cry by Kimmie who has Cherokee heritage.

V1- Steve
On the banks of the Ojibwa River
As it flows into the lake
the cypress fires dancing
as the people take their place

The drums call to the elders
to join the people’s dance
the blood moon turns the water red
to break old winter’s trance

Chorus
The raven spreads his mighty wings
as the owl turns his feathered face
to welcome the red moon
and open to the summer’s grace

(V3) - Colleen
The people huddled together
So cold in this winter snow
the warming season pulsing
In the red moon’s glow

Chorus
(41) The raven spreads his mighty wings
as the owl turns his feathered face
to welcome the red moon
open season for summer’s grace

V4- Greg
It’s a sign of new beginnings
It’s a social time at hand
Display the native culture
To the children of the clan

The keeper stokes the fire
When the moon shines bright and full
Replac ing all old embers
With the bright red burning coals

Chorus
Raven spreads his might wings
the owl turns his mighty face
to welcome the red moon
open season to the summer’s grace
