After an adventure in re-recording the entire song down a third, we came back to the original, tightened and tuned.
Always the self flagellating perfectionist, it still needs a bit more love. Always the pragmatist, it is probably done for now.
don't be so hard on yourself. Featuring your home-brewed software deserves mad props! I like this track, and I look forward to your release of Elysium. Good work!
This is a song I wrote with Lisa Purdy (who sings the harmony vocal) about the experience of depression. Jim Bouchard plays lap steel - I'm playing/singing the rest.
the musical mood is an unusual one right from the start
has a dark tinge, but also a humorous irony to it
that plunky up and down bass makes it special
and that slanty progression at SEEING ME THIS WAY / AND IF I CRY - totally special.
gorgeous blossoming of vocal harmony at HERE LIKE THIS.
and the slide slithers in and out with sweet sensations
to remind us we're all crazy not to be depressed.
bravo, all!

A masterpiece indeed. I am wowed, but not surprised. Your work is always amazing. A favorite of many. Are you planning on exploring any of these ideas more? You could easily turn this into an hour long album. Each piece is so well defined and poignant. kudos.
This is maybe the first track written entirely by This Caustic Autumn as a group effort. I'd been to see Sigur Ros play at Massey Hall in Toronto the night before we wrote this, so that's where the idea for the bowed Les Paul came from. Other…
I'm pretty new 'round these parts and am still trying to figure things out. I don't seem to be able to respond to particular comments, so I'll give a group thanks to everyone for taking the time to check this song out and leave your mark.
Yes, these is some clipping. This actually isn't the version I meant to upload but once I got it up I figured I might as well leave it, but yea, the clipping is a pain in the ears. The over version, I believe, is clipless.
Thanks again,
