This is so deeply melancholy. The arrangement is awesome. I haven't heard your mandolin and harps in awhile. They sound perfect. An instant classic and fav.

Lyrics:
Down by the riverside, autumn wind blows cold
The river just keeps rolling by with just a hint of snow
I continue standing here, where did you go
Ain’t no use to worry, some things I’ll never know

Something new here. Tilden Barger offered to arrange and produce this song. Tell me what you think.
Written by Greg Connor
Arranged and Produced by my friend Tilden Barger
This song is inspired by the struggles currently going on in Syria....here are the lyrics:
Out in the streets, an awakening has begun
You brandish posters, they point a gun
Scrawled on the pavement with blood and tears
Says we the people…
Sitting around in my shop a couple of days ago with the Goodall and the Zoom H4N. First time I've really messed with using the internal mics on the H4N in multitrack mode
My first attempt at a Blumlein or Mid/Side recording. This one is actually a mid/side recording as I used a directional mic in combo with a figure 8 ribbon mic set at 90 degrees from the main mic. Thanks to Pat Broaders for the loan of the ribbon…
My kids told me to buck up, all my songs to date were dreary, kids eh! This is the acoustic version of this song. When you're bored with this, I'll upload the upbeat one
I listened to the versions back to back.
The electric version has some pretty neat aspects to it, like the drum track, and the distorted guitar.
I'm still leaning toward the acoustic version. I like the acoustic guitar, and the overall feel of it.
Of course, I'm getting to be an old fart. Maybe that has something to do with it.
From a idea born in the mind of Greg Connor, who wrote half the words. I supplied the tune,at his behest. Perhaps someday he will take it up and add his accents to it.
At one point, I had a version recorded with much better guitar -- at least I thought I did -- but I can't find it now...
Another one of those tunes that kept growing after the demo was laid down, this song now has twice as many verses as you…
