Greg- the song made it's world premier tonite at the Saint Petersburg Country Club's monthly gathering and dance. (Nothing to do with golf, just aficionados of American country music.) It got the whole crowd out waltzing on the dance floor and folks really enjoyed it (they mostly understand enough English). So you are soon gonna be famous in Russia .

Wake up in the morning, I’m still in my cloths
I got one eye open but the other wont go
Barely can remember the night before
Except for how you threw me out the door
Whiskey, Whiskey, Whiskey
I think I’m in trouble again…

Nice song, nice vid. I would like the vid better if it weren't March and 20 below zero outside this morning, but hey... at least you got eagles. Me, I just got crows and magpies.
Well ... I tried to log in on my iPhone and learned that I am only a guest. Rita and I listened to *"Taking Back What's Mine"* over a Bluetooth speaker in the living room this morning and as I said in the previous "Guest" message, lots of emotion and imagery!
I'm impressed with your guitar playing and the tone from your new guitar too. Very nice!
This one is still a bit rough, but I wanted to share and see if anyone has an interest in adding some guitars, bass, other vocal parts for fun. I left the chords in the lyrics below, in case you wanted to collaborate. I hope you enjoy it…
One after another . . . Strong lyrics and a great melody. Excellent!
I see you decided to put Laural & Hardy's version out of its mystery. Good choice. We were making it much more complicated than it needed to be.
This is a song by our guitarist Keith. He doesn't get a chance to jam with us as much since he moved to New York. He and I had a lot of fun working on this simple tune, and it makes me miss times long gone.
One for the Peace Fest on the other side....it has a touch of the Irish about it i think.....
Bugger the fighting and bugger the wars
make an end to maiming and being parliaments whore
lets put a stop to the fighting once more
cause nobody…
Deserts of the Higher Plane
Searches end, I had to admit
Mirages were never towns
Till I finally quit with my damages aloft
Holding what I can’t, what I can’t allow
Desserts of the Higher Plane roll along
Desserts of the higher plane…

This just puts a smile on my face to hear it! Beautiful song you wrote! Thanks for letting us play along.
Back around the turn of the century a group of miscreants would converge in a basement on Tuesday evenings to imbibe spirits and play music. Here's a recording of a public-domain song from one of those evenings (written by Kansas Joe McCoy &…

Yes, I like this version too! Clean with just a bit of attitude.
Cheers!
Congratulations Grampa! Nice tribute to bring your Grand daughter into this world.
I can tell you are having fun with this! It's contagious.
Ah ..... Minnesota has created two new Poets! *Keep on Truckin!* That Tax Man has been circling around me lately too.
Instant smile! I can hear *"Sweet Baby Kenny"* blowing the harmonica in between sips of Jameson.
Pretty, reminds me of a gentle stream.
Nice sounding organ!
Reminds me of Iron Butterfly . . . I don't know why. I can hear Thetworegs singing lyrics to this!
Powerful Song !!!
Ethereal and Deep. It makes me stop and think. Good one John!
Still good this morning!
Sitting around your coffee table has been a lot of fun! This just puts a smile on my face to hear it! Beautiful song you wrote! Thanks for letting us play along.
I love it! I like the way it builds. So . . . is this autobiographical?
How about if I bring a harmonica Friday night and we do this song?
This is powerful. Sparse is the perfect approach and it accents your message perfectly. One after another . . . You just keep setting the bar higher!
